Just Do It! or...Count Your Blessings

Good morning! Here I sit in my robe drinking coffee and writing on this blog. I have checked my email and need to get going on so many things! What is it about the first couple of months after Christmas? I have to work really hard not to be depressed. I know that it will be many weeks before we get to see any family again, it is cold and it's not too comfortable getting outside for the needed Vit. D. and exercise. I eat too much and I don't move enough. (Another blog entry in itself...weight watchers. ugh.) The boys are sick of school, especially Will with his senioritis. In his mind he is already at Harding. Wes says that school is just a waste of time, and that the spring semester is just too long!

We are in need of an attitude adjustment. We had a little come to Jesus meeting yesterday which included a great tickle fest. Yes, you can still have a tickle time with your 6 foot 6 and 6 foot 3 boys! Sometimes you just have to find ways to laugh. We also talked about not thinking so much about ourselves but finding other people to help and focus on. When they got home after the afternoon classes they said that yes, it was a better day because of the laughter and thinking more of other people than themselves. You know you can make things fun even when it is boring! There is a book that I love called, "It Depends On How You Look At It" that has helped me a lot to just be positive. Here is to hoping and praying that I can be positive and get off my rear end and get some work done! Oh...look what I need to do!

Now...I am really baring my horrible (some days) work ethic! I put these jobs off until I HAVE to get them done! This is actually a very small pile in the laundry room compared to most days!

Bed needs to be made! Treadmill needs to be walked on.

This is really where I would like to be, but I will get over it.

I have got to sit down and pay bills!!! I will need a stiff dose of positive attitude for that chore! But, Thank you God for your provision!

This I have to say is sadly the way this couch looks a lot of the time. "Mom! I need socks!"
"You know where to look! The couch!"
Please forgive me. I am working on it.
But hey! MY KITCHEN IS CLEAN!!!!
We also need to mail 4 scholarship applications in for Will, and our Blue Haven teacher applications. Wes needs to go and get his driving permit (maybe he will be driving by age 20.)Will is speaking for FCA on Friday and is petrified and needs us to help him with his talk. We have two bball games tonight, and tomorrow is football signing day with a big reception for Will at school and I get to feed the basketball team lunch on Friday. What a great, busy week! Thank you Father for people to love and for finding ways to glorify You!
Blessings on your week and your day today!
Be joyful always;
pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Your comments were very nice and extremely well put. Being a mother is not only the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life but it has also been the most trying - physically and emotionally.

Please come back and visit.

Your sister in Christ,
Melinda

I just read your comment on Blogging from the Burbs about your son being a senior. I loved what you said. I have two seniors. Just wanted to say hi.
Thank your for a fast forward look at things to come...it helps me realize that my job will still be the same ol stuff but I can do it with a more positive outlook!
