My Sweet Wesley and Dust

Good morning. I am off in a few minutes to go and get my blood drawn to see how my thyroid is functioning. ugh. All I know is that I am gaining weight on this lower dose of synthroid. yuck.

That is another topic for another day.

Anyway, I have to take a moment to brag on my sweet Wesley. He is turning out to be such an artist. I have always enjoyed drawing and painting in a limited way. I look back into my family tree to Aunt Freda with her incredible art talent and to Rick Gibson who also inherited that blessing. I may have received a little of that talent but not anything like the ones mentioned above and the art ability that Wes has. It is so cool to watch him draw. He just looked at a small picture of this famous painting and drew it. He is in an art class at school and it having a lot of fun. We will see where it goes from here. So proud of him!

Now, before I go into the rant below I have to thank God for the needed rain last night! It was so wonderful to hear it falling. We needed rain so badly. THANK YOU FATHER!!!

I really now need just a minute to bellyache about the blowing of the WIND!!!!! I am so very tired of it!!!!

We have had about 3 days in a row which I can tell are turning into weeks and weeks in a row of spring time wind and dust. We have to put up with the wind here where we live but for some reason it is driving me batty right now. Dusting is a joke! ha! You can dust in the morning and by afternoon you can write your name in the dust on just about anything in the house! I guess it does not help that our house is right next to a cotton field. I will say that usually after a really bad dusty day we have one day the next day that is incredibly beautiful. It is like the dust cleans the air.

I will leave you with a poem that tells how I feel about dust and then I shall go on and be positive in spite of the wind!

"Dusting"

Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture, or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go- and go you must- you, yourself will make more dust!

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE AREN'T THINGS!

Have a blessed day. Amy

I feel your pain when it comes to the thyroid thing. It is a thorn in my side too.
