Basketball News

Goodness. What a game! We beat a very good team last night in Canyon. We did not have our best game and played pretty sloppy and were lucky to win it in the end. We are all heading to the Regional Tournament this weekend. Very exciting! Only two games away from the State Tournament. It would be so fun to be heading down to Austin to play. It would be good to see Colt too. Hope it works out and we play good at Regionals.

We got to spend time with some wonderful friends of ours, the Jones' Family. They are life time incredible friends that we love so dearly. We ate supper with them and we all went to the game. There are a few pictures below of their family.

I did not get any photos during the game. I was too busy jumping up and down and yelling! Probably would have broken the camera.

Good luck in the regional tournament!!

And can I just say, off the subject, that I am sooo excited that you will be joining me on my "Road to a better me". I think that it will be so encouraging to have other women fighting for the same thing and sharing the same struggles. Good luck!!

I've only had a second to scroll through your blog - but I'm sure I'll be visiting again. You look like an inspiring, everyday woman. Hope that makes sense. I have to ask. Where are you from? We have a farm in the Panhandle and spend time there.

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
