The Year...how fast it is flying.

Snow, update

Hang in there pretty little pink tulips!

The snow is falling.

Isn't it amazing that when you want your life to slow down so that you can savor and enjoy every minute that it seems to speed out of control? It seems like just a few minutes ago that we were watching the guys playing in their first football games for this year. Now, we are already in track and counting down until graduation for William. I am still refusing to get really blubbery (well once in a while I do) and let myself take any time to cry over things changing and him leaving.

Someone asked Wes last night if he couldn't wait for Will to leave so he could have the run of things. They expected him in typical Wes fashion to say, "Yes, I can't wait!", but he said, "No, I am going to miss him." And I sat there and thought, "I am too." and I will miss our family like it is right now and has been for so many years. The four of us enjoying and walking through everyday life together. I am so thankful for these years. They have been and will always be the best times of my life.

This is one of those mornings that I am so thankful that God has blessed me to be able to stay home and not have to work everyday. I am sure that it could change any day (the working part) especially with the boys going to college, but this morning they were all rushing around to get off and I was standing and looking out the window at the snow falling.

Wes thinks it is not fair that I can stay home, but I just tell him that I did my school time and he has to do his! Anyway, I am still in my robe and on my third cup of coffee (too much coffee, I know but... I LOVE IT!) and I am so enjoying this snowy day and time to be at home. I am planning on working on a big pot of soup and changing sheets and cleaning (it has been awhile) and working on a lesson for Blue Haven (I really am, Michael) and many other puttering around things.

I am thankful.

Thankful that God answered my prayers long ago about staying home to raise my boys no matter what, even if we had to eat beans and cornbread everyday. That's not so bad, I love beans and cornbread. Wow, I am rambling again.

I will finish with these pictures below. Yesterday we went to a track meet and it was nearly 80 degrees in the afternoon. (Today it is not going to get over 37.)

Will placed 6th in the Triple Jump and won the High Jump. We were quite excited because he jumped 6'6 and went out on 6'8. He could not clear 6'4 last year. If he keeps jumping this way he could earn a place to jump at state in Austin. We might get to go see Colt again! Woo Hoo!!, that would be fun. I hope he can keep it up.

Wes threw the disk and the shot. He did good and improved his distances every time. We are so happy for both of them. We loved seeing the Holt family at the track meet. Goodness, your girls and so beautiful!

Blessings on your day! We will see how much lovely white stuff falls today and enjoy the beauty of it. I just hope my tulips survive. :) Amy

You're having crazy weather like us! It's been sleeting here since 1 pm...the boys got out of school then. We seem to be on the edge of this storm, not snowing, not raining, the nice mix. YUK! All of our trees are hanging low and branches breaking.
Love the new picture and look of your blog...what a beautiful family! Talk soon.

How fun! I Love the new family picture. I teared up reading your post b/c I know time will fly so fast and I'll be in those shoes before I know it. Yes, I know mine's only 3...but I know how time flies too. You have a beautiful family! I just moved all my plants in the garage this morning. We've fallen to 38 so far.....but we were at 62 at 4pm! CRAZY! I packed the car for the soccer game in true coach's wife fashion. WE had everything from short sleeves to Cannon's snow suit packed! We got lucky and got to sit in the box. AND, we WON!!!

We will just have to comfort each other and we face sending these precious people off to college! I'm going to be a basket case.

I always enjoy your posts! We too have had crazy weather, however, I am so prayerful for all the folks in in ND. Things are looking terrible up there!

Have a blessed weekend Amy!
