Mellow Monday

Howdy! It is really a sleepy Monday. I need the sun! I am working on a long list of to do's for today. This month is looking like it might give me high blood pressure if I am not careful. ha. Sorry it has been few days since I have posted. We are really dreaming about summer right now as I am sure that you are too. The boys say that there are only 20 more days of school left. Since they seem to be just watching movies at school everyday I say, why not end it now? Just kidding... not really. Moving on.

I picked up our oldest son's graduation announcements yesterday. It is not slowing down at all and we are scheduling in all of the graduation festivities. I am not dwelling on all of these momentous things that are going to happen but am instead thinking about our summer trip with Will and his brother and how much fun it will be. Hopefully this swine flu stuff will calm down by mid summer and we will all be able to travel some without any worry. So far in our area we do not have any swine flu yet. The boys are wishing for just one case so school could close for a week. No such luck for them yet. I am sure if that one case was one of them it would not be so fun. :)

Sid and I are trying to do the Love Dare book. It has actually been really wonderful so far. Here are some thoughts from just the first two days.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Eph. 4:2

Patience helps you give your spouse permission to be human. It understands that everyone fails.

Resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Eph. 4:32

The kind husband or wife will be the one who greets first, smiles first, serves first, and forgives first. They don't require the other to get his or her act together before showing love.

Do one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness.

(Oh, by the way the song that is playing is for you Sidney. It makes me smile and think of you. Michael Buble...you are so good.)

Below are just some random pictures and thoughts. Not anything very important I am afraid, but pictures never the less. By the way...someone explain never the less to me. ????? Just one of those sayings that tickle my brain and I am too tired to figure out what in the world does it really mean.
My favorite deck on the Mariner of the Seas. I am sure that I have posted this picture before. sorry. I loved walking on this deck. You could walk all the way around the ship on it while enjoying the lovely water. We took this trip last summer with all of the family for Mom an Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Such great memories. Would love to go on a cruise again some day I am sure a long, long time from now. ah...

I have to say it. "I love my car." I know it is just a car but really I love it. Thank you sweetheart. I may not love it as much when I have to seriously get a part time job to help pay for it, but for now...I love it. It will be greatly enjoyed on those long drives up into Arkansas to see William next year. The gas mileage is much better than the suburban was. yippee.
The boys took down the side fence in our yard. (It was not hard. It was falling down.) We were hoping that in the next few weeks we could at least redo this part of the fence. Well...it may be a June project now that I spent an hour in the Insurance office this morning trying not to complain but using my sad puppy dog face when talking about the insurance on two trucks for two boys and my new/used car and my husband's car. Rats. Car insurance...they said we should have had girls, and that they are not as expensive to pay insurance on. Oh bother. So, everyone will be looking into our back yard for at least a month (or more). I am sure our neighbors will love that.
Will is learning to play the guitar. He is working hard at it. We ate our supper out here on the back porch last night. It was a good time.
Very serious. I think he is hoping he will get good enough to play for some cute girl.
This was the chicken that we grilled out the other night. The picture is horrible, but the chicken was some of the tastiest we have had in a long time. Here is the recipe:
Grilled Bruschetta Chicken
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing,
divided 4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.)
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
1/2 cup Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
Directions:
Place large sheet of heavy-duty foil over half of grill grate; preheat grill to medium heat.
Pour 2 Tbsp. of the dressing over chicken in resealable plastic bag; seal bag.
Turn bag over several times to evenly coat chicken with the dressing.
Refrigerate 10 min. to marinate. Remove chicken from marinade; discard bag and marinade.
Grill chicken on uncovered side of grill 6 min.
Meanwhile, combine tomatoes, cheese, basil and remaining 2 Tbsp. dressing.Turn chicken over; place, cooked-side up, on foil on grill.
Top evenly with tomato mixture. Close lid.
Grill an additional 8 min. or until chicken is cooked through (165ºF).
YUM!
Well, enough of typing whatever comes to mind for today. Hope your day is a blessed one. Amy

Hi Amy! Sounds like you are getting busier as the Month of May begins--the end of school time is so busy I can't imagine having one graduating. Hope all is going well with your graduation plans. Have a wonderful week!
