Psalm 62...My Soul Finds Rest in God Alone

Good morning. Will gave a talk yesterday at church and spoke from
Psalm 62: 5-8 & 11-12.
It was good. Here are the verses. They are beautiful and reassuring.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God ;

He is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, O people;

pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.
One thing God has spoken,

two things have I heard: that You, O God, are strong,
and that You, O Lord, are loving.

Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.

Sat. night was prom. Will got prom king. Woo Hoo. It was kind of sweet. But...we are going to pray and maybe bribe Wes not to go his next two years. You know that feeling when you walk into a place where it is just dark? I don't mean the lighting necessarily either. It is when it seems like the atmosphere is in conflict with the Spirit of God living in you? That is how it felt. I pray that we will not keep going to places where we feel this darkness. If we continue to dwell in dark places it makes sense that we will not feel the darkness anymore but just be a part of it. Anyway, just some thoughts.

Here is a different subject. My friend Hazel sent this to me this morning. I loved it and wanted you to read it. I pray that I can be this kind of wife to my husband as I am sure this is how Sid would treat me if I were the woman in this story. I am thankful today for my husband who loves the Lord more than he loves me and shows great commitment to our family and to the important things in our life.

How to Dance in the Rain
It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment th is morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?' He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought,'That is the kind of love I want in my life.' True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.'

Well, I hope that your Monday is a blessed one. Here are some photos I wanted to share with you. Love, Amy

The fence is coming along. It looks great.
Thanks Mom for lending me your patio furniture for the summer. I love it.

Not sure if you remember me, but I sure do remember the trip we took together with the MTM youth to Dallas that one time! So much fun! Anyway, I just wanted to say I am working here at the HSC in the School of Nursing. Been here 5 years and I kept seeing your husband off and on for the past month and then it hit me that I KNEW HIM!!! I will have to stop by and say hi. You don't be a stranger either okay!
