Places In The Heart

Good morning. I hope that your Thanksgiving was wonderful a great time was had with family and friends. We have traveled and traveled... and are bone weary. Tired physically and emotionally. We loved spending time with family at the ranch and in College Station. It was a blessing. Sid's Mom is very ill and in the hospital and will probably go to heaven soon. It was a sad but blessed time being with her and with Sid's brother Bill and sister Becky and their families. We would appreciate your prayers for JoAnn and especially for Daddy Bob. It is hard to imagine your world without the people that have been so constant in our lives. Our parents are so woven into our hearts. It is hard to picture life without them. I am so thankful that we share life in Jesus and His saving grace and promise of eternity with Him. Not only with Him but those we love. Comforting and exciting. Thank you God for this promise.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.

Leaves were nice.
There is a part of the ranch that was burned very badly a few years ago. Underneath the dead oak trees is alot of new growth. So comforting that even though something is harmed and looks dead ( or is dead) that it can still have beauty around it and new growth can be seen against the darkness. Thankful that God does this with us too.

I am so sorry to hear about JoAnn. I will keep her and the whole family in my prayers. I have fond memories of Dr. and Mrs. Walker from my A&M days. Sweet family!!!

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
