Blue Haven...Session 1...Best Week of the Year

A preview of heaven. Sounds a little silly I guess. It is however how I feel. What a blessing to be in the gorgeous mountains with nearly 300 people that are focused on spending a week drawing closer God. Camp Blue Haven is really all about seeing God more clearly and learning better how to love Jesus and serve him with all your heart. I am so thankful for what this experience has taught my children and myself. My heart is full. Thank you God for this blessing of being involved in this camp and for the blessing of getting to teach and watch hearts commit to You and grow closer to You. Awesome.

Have you seen this? Outside Amarillo a few miles are old Cadillac's planted in the ground. People come out and write all over them and stand on them. Weird, but kind of cool. :)
We always are so excited to get to the spot we can have this view on the way in to camp. Lovely. Hermit's Peak.

This was the way the sky looked the last morning of camp. Sid and I were out on the way to take him to the airport. We smelled smoke but did not know what was happening until we got out on the road away from camp about 5 miles. Tomorrow...the forest fire...

Blessings on your day. To rest now...this virus is still eating my lunch. Thanks for your prayers. It is so aggravating to be tired and feel weird. I so take my good health for granted until I don't have it anymore. What a blessing to feel strong and have energy and to feel normal. I pray it will come again. Please Lord. I love you all!

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
