Thursday Random Thoughts

Good Thursday morning! Don't you just love Thursdays? I do! Seems like we start looking forward to the weekend and that makes Thursdays nice. Not that we are just dreaming away our weekdays, but Thurs. are just kind of fun. Thursdays just get Sid excited about football Fridays. He loves football so much I think he gets butterflies in his stomach this time of year just thinking about high school and college football.

By the way I have to tell a funny on him. I am usually ALWAYS the one in the family that breaks or looses things, but he wins for this week! yippee! He dropped his Iphone out of his dress shirt pocket into the toilet yesterday. I am sure it won't seem so funny today like it did last night if he did not have insurance on it. I love being married to the most wonderful man in the world and that he makes me laugh. It's been way fun for over 20 years.

I have had so many thoughts in my head lately about the empty nest syndrome and what life is going to look like after Wes leaves next summer. Sad thoughts and anticipatory thoughts too. Paying for two in college will probably help me to decide to get an away from home job, but I am also excited about maybe taking painting lessons and a few other things like traveling with Sid. Life just moves on and I guess we just adapt. Today it does not sound so bad but I am sure tomorrow I will cry about it. All these years life has been about our kids. I don't think that is bad and I am glad we have had a loving focus on them. But now looking at having time on our hands I really want God to show us how to hands on help to further His Kingdom and how to better reach people for Him. I think we are so comfortable in our American lives that we really don't think about truly ministering to others. I just really don't want to be a comfortable Christian. Makes me think of a song from camp...Casual Christian

I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be a casual Christian
I don't wanna live, I don't wanna live a lukewarm life
But I wanna light up the night
With an everlasting light
I don't wanna live the casual Christian life

This life is filled with strong distractions
With pulls from the left one from the right
I've already made up my mind
Gonna leave this world behind
Gonna live my life a living sacrifice.

RANDOM PICTURES...

Fun Fall centerpiece from Wally World.

I have a picture taking fascination with sunsets and pretty clouds.

I thought this was especially nice.

Wesley's only football injury so far besides sore muscles. This one actually happened in the football locker room! Oh my. I wish coaches would at least pop into the locker room every now and again. That would be nice. Shenanigans.
These beautiful horses live at the Kile farm several miles out of town. We were out there for a youth event. I could not resist taking pictures of the horses. The sun was shining just right on them. Beautiful animals.

Blessings on your Thursday. The scripture this morning that really spoke to me was:
Ps. 126:3
The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with JOY.

Great pics! I just read that same scripture this a.m. too!

Hope all is well in TX...good here, just getting into the groove of school routine.

Gorgeous pic on your header...just so serene and beautiful. Have a fabulous weekend...we are loving us some FOOTBALL in our house too~watching that is :)
Oh I know that transition...I have had four leave the nest and even though I have two still here...it affects you. I still miss hearing their voices and footprints...I don't know when that goes away.
But like you, I don't want to just stay comfortable and even with two at home I need to move out...so this weekend I am training to be a mentor to some at risk students or Nelson house. It will allow me to be His hands and feet.
Love the pictures...love the boys bruises...still see those from my grown adult boys, always an award to them...like it Wild at Heart!
Blessings...enjoy your weekend
