24...Spirit Take Me Up In Arms With You

(Please pause the blog music at the bottom of the page to listen to this video.)

Twenty-four oceans
Twenty-four skies
Twenty-four failures
And twenty-four tries
Twenty-four finds me
In twenty-fourth place
With twenty-four drop outs
At the end of the day

Life is not what I thought it was
Twenty-four hours ago
Still I'm singing 'Spirit,
take me up in arms with You'
And I'm not who I thought I was
Twenty-four hours ago
Still I'm singing 'Spirit,
take me up in arms with You'

There's twenty-four reasons
To admit that I'm wrong
With all my excuses
Still twenty-four strong

See, I'm not copping out
Not copping out
Not copping out
When you're raising the dead in me

Oh, oh
I am the second man
Oh, oh
I am the second man now
Oh, I am the second man now
And you're raising these...

Twenty-four voices
With twenty-four hearts
All of my symphonies
In twenty-four parts
But I want to be one today
Centered and true
I'm singing 'Spirit take me up in arms with You'
You're raising the dead in me

Oh, oh
I am the second man
Oh, oh
I am the second man now
Oh
I am the second man now
And you're raising the dead in me
Yeah

I wanna see miracles
To see the world change
Wrestled the angel for more than a name
For more than a feeling
For more than a cause
I'm singing 'Spirit, take me up in arms with You'
And you're raising the dead in me

Twenty-four oceans
With twenty-four hearts
All of my symphonies
With twenty-four parts
Life is not what I thought it was
Twenty-four hours ago
Still I'm singing 'Spirit,
take me up in arms with You'
I'm not copping out
Not copping out

This Jon Foreman song really touches my heart. His crying out that he is so unworthy without Christ and messes up but that the Spirit raises the dead in him. His point being that we want to be one with Christ and we fight all that we do that fragments us and takes us away from Him. Thank you Father for washing us clean and making us new and helping us to center on You.

I pray a special prayer this morning for our children. Father please help them to feel Your presence. Please bless them to make good decisions with Your guidance. Show them the paths You would have them to take and I pray they are talking to you in constant prayer and are feeding off of your Word. Thank you for all You are doing in their lives. Please guide them.

Almighty God, I give my children to You and ask that You would set them apart for Your holy purposes. I pray that they love the things You love and hate the things You hate. Please teach them to run from what the world shoves at them and to bravely, with joy show the people Your love and hope.

As He who called You is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." 1 Peter 1:15-16
