Christmas Fever...

Good morning! This was my view this morning as I snapped the world waking up. It is a lovely fall day but I feel Christmas coming on. I love Thanksgiving time SO much but I just have to hold back and not get into Christmas mode too quick right after Halloween. It is a struggle! ha.
I do have a rule that I can't start decorating for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. This was put into place by Sid for fear that I would start listening to Christmas music in July and decorating for it in Sept.
I. Love. Christmas.
When I was at Mom and Dad's house a few weeks ago I volunteered to bring home several boxes of old pictures to sort through for her. I have had more fun looking at old pictures that I have never seen before. This one is of my older brother and I. Don't you think this Santa is the real thing? Love this picture.
 I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and spied these way cool coffee mugs. I have to admit I have a coffee mug addiction. My collection of mugs is way too big but I love each and every one of them. So...I am not decorating yet but am drinking out of these festive mugs just getting ready for it!

I loved the blog entry today! I share your love for all things Christmas...I must admit that I did buy quite a few things last week at Hobby Lobby when they had their 50% off Christmas decor sale. Sadly, Chad has the same rule for me that Sid has for you about when the decorating can commence. He humors me though, and is willing to put up lights on the house every year. I love Christmas too! I also have the rule of no decor until the Evening of Thanksgiving, usually the day after! I love decorating and enjoying my tree-something about it all decorated, lit up and enjoying the peacefulness in the early am with my cup of java!

I love coffee mugs too! :)

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about.
