The Land of Enchantment...New Mexico

We have been blessed to attend the Red River Family Encampment the past 20 years. I can't say enough about how family church camps and Christian youth camps have impacted our children and our family. We have made wonderful friends and had great times of spiritual renewal and family reunion time at the RR Encampment. In the early years of our marriage I am sure that we would not have been able to afford this vacation but were so blessed to have a place to stay because of being asked to sing on the program. I am thankful for that and for Dad always picking up the food tab (plus a lot of other tabs) and taking care of us. We watched our children grow up at this encampment and it has been a blessing. Thank you Father God for inspiring and blessing this Encampment to bring people closer to You.

The massive "tent" where we meet by the river.

Lot's of people heading to their favorite Bible class.
The High Plains Children's Home gives away sausage wraps on Sunday and Monday mornings of the Encampment. It is a BIG hit. See Sid standing there licking his lips? Yum.
Red River, NM is indeed a gorgeous place in New Mexico.
If you have not visited, take a drive up there. You will love it.

Trey Morgan's class on Healthy marriage's.

He has an incredible blog: http://treymorgan.net/

Brad and Debra also had a class on Parenting.

They did an awesome job. This little boy's name was Colt. So cute.

The River. Not red, but beautiful.
Chair lift rides to the top of the ski mountain.
The Auslander Condos. Our home away from home. The grounds are lovely.
On the road back to Las Vegas, NM and Camp Blue Haven you pass by the valley where Lonesome Dove was filmed. At the end of the movie where they have driven the cows to Wyoming...well, it was really here in New Mexico. So gorgeous. This is on a very lonely road traveling south from Red River through Mora, NM.
I pray that your day is a blessed one.

In light of yesterday being the fourth of July:

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Ps. 33:12

Looks like you all had a wonderful time! It's a beautiful place. I'm a bit far from it myself, though.

There is nothing better than church camp. I grew up going to one in Alpine call Pisano and what made it so special was that it was a family camp. Some of my best memories are at that camp. I love it when you post pictures and updates about church camp.
