Sentimental Graduation Gift...

This beautiful quilt arrived in the mail yesterday for Wes. It came from our friend Melissa Barrow. What a wonderful graduation idea she had. She asked Wes to send her his favorite t-shirts so that she could make him a quilt. This is what came back. SO beautiful. Thank you Melissa! He will cherish this forever. And if he does not take good care of it I will whoop him! Actually, I might ask him to leave it at home for a while so that I can enjoy it and spend some time being terribly sentimental about it.

One t-shirt was an old Disneyland shirt from both boys toddler days. The Go Climb a Rock shirt is from Yosemite when we used to go out to the Yosemite Family Encampment. The Texas A&M t-shirts are from when we went to the football signing day when Wes was about four and the player's signed the boy's shirts. The little blue shirt with the smiling sun on it says, "My Future's so Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades." This shirt that child wore EVERYDAY. It was all he wanted to wear for about a year. The Addicted to Jesus and Property of Jesus t-shirts he wore proudly for years until they were nearly worn out. The Pepperdine water polo shirt was a favorite.

And, on and on...I am sure I have lost you by now. That's ok. I have enjoyed thinking about a precious little boy that has grown into a wonderful young man. Melissa...thank you for a most thoughtful, beautiful gift.

Blessings on this warm, lovely day! Amy

I want a t-shirt soooo badly!!! my drawers are bursting with tees from high school, youth group, BSU, and college!!! Lots of memories :)
That is sooooooooo awesome...I am so glad to see that some people still make things and give such meaningful gifts. Now if I had of kept all my boys sports jerseys I could have done the same thing...maybe I will with number 6!
