So Dry...

Good morning! This little Heartlight daily reminder for today that my husband sent me is so moving. Our wonderful Texas and New Mexico are burning up and need rain relief so badly. It is going to 104 degrees here today and 107 in Abilene. I know so many people are praying fervently for rain. I pray also for relief from spiritual dryness and discouragement.

VERSE:
You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.
-- Psalm 68:9

THOUGHT:
Dryness, whether spiritual or physical, is sapping to the spirit and
wilting to all living things. Let's join our hearts together today, tens of
thousands strong, praying that God will do two
things: (1) that he bring rain and refreshment on those lands that are
parched and where times are hard; and (2) that he will refresh all of his
servants who are discouraged and close to giving up in their difficulties,
challenges, temptations, discouragements, and failures. Let's pray for today
to be a day of refreshment and the beginning of revival in our world and
among God's people!

PRAYER:
Lord God Almighty, the one able to do more than all we ask or imagine,
today, we join our voices and our hearts in asking you for refreshment for every land and every heart parched and wilted. Send your rains on the drought laden parts of our world. And dear Father, please bring revival throughout our world in our churches and the hearts of those who serve you.
We ask this together in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and King. Amen.

Oh Amy before I even pulled up your post..seeing the title I started to pray Lord we need your spiritual rain and your physical rain. So many are dying spiritually...so many are so dry spiritually...we need your rain. Then I started reading...I agree and say Amen!...yes Lord.

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
