Messiest Cook...But It Sure Smells Good In This Kitchen

Good morning. It has been raining hard and now is sprinkling a pleasant little bit. Perfect Thanksgiving weather.  We have the blessing of being able to spend Thanksgiving with both sides of our family.  I have been up cooking this morning and have really enjoyed the time in the kitchen.  Our sweet friend and Camp Blue Haven camper Samantha Bahl is very close to seeing Jesus face to face. We have been praying for a miracle for God's glory but if it is not His will that she remains on this earth, that He would bring her home soon so she can be free of the pain. Your will be done Father.
I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber. The Lord watches over you— Psalms 121:1-3
I found this recipe in a Thanksgiving magazine. It is Cranberry Chocolate Scones.

I must say that they are as good as they look. Yum.
Ok, Does anyone else get this messy when they cook? My Mom used to tell me that when I was cooking the kitchen just seemed to explode.  She is right. Controlled chaos.
The muffins you see are Pumpkin Chocolate Muffins.  I also just took two Pumpkin cakes out of the oven but did not have time to give them a photo shoot.  Pumpkin and chocolate. Pretty good stuff.
Also, I had this conversation with my sisters in law's when they were helping me pack up.  When you are cooking mass volumes of food do you wait to wash up at the end or wash up as you go?  As you can see I am a wash the dishes at the end kind of girl.
They are both much more tidy than I am. Those girls. Perfect. :)
I pray that you all have the most wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Delights

On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
Our blessings all year through,
For family we dearly love,
For good friends, old and new.

For sun to light and warm our days,
For stars that glow at night,
For trees of green and skies of blue,
And puffy clouds of white.

We’re grateful for our eyes that see
The beauty all around,
For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
And ears to hear each sound.

The list of all we’re grateful for
Would fill a great big book;
Our thankful hearts find new delights
Everywhere we look!
