Monday Musings and Buttermilk Pie...

It's Monday before Thanksgiving! I have got to get it in gear. Whew...
It is overcast and threatening rain this morning. We need the rain, but I need the sunshine. Understand?
The picture above is of William with two of his good friends Kristin and Candace. His team won the Intramural Football Championship game last night.
Wish I could have been there to see it.
Looks like they had fun. Sweet girls.
We walked downtown last weekend to eat supper with some friends.  It is all decorated for Christmas. So nice.  Love this time of year. We usually don't put up our Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving but I may jump it forward a little this year. I am just ready. There is something comforting about Christmas lights and colors and music. Maybe it's because we associate all of it with sweet family time and being together.
I had a friend send me an email and ask for one of Mom's recipes. Thanks Dalaina! She will love it that you asked for it. I like thinking of you making it with your girls and picturing your Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Anyway, I thought you might like it too. It really it SO good.

Buttermilk Pie

half stick of butter, softened
1 and a half cups sugar
1 and a half Tbs. flour
Cream this, then add 3 whole eggs, 1 at a time.
Add half cup of buttermilk to which you have added a fourth teaspoon of lemon extract.
Bake in unbaked pie shell 1 hour at 325 degrees. Enjoy!

So very easy and so extremely yummy.
Our boys and nephews love it and think it would not be Thanksgiving or Christmas without this pie.

Blessings on your day as you go about preparing for family time and yummy Thanksgiving food.

Oh, how fun for Will! I'm so glad when college kids enjoy the whole atmosphere!

Glad you had a break this weekend from all the moving stuff! I don't think I've had Buttermilk pie. Is it similar to chess pie?

Happy Monday to you!
Oh this pie sounds great...may have to add that to our list of favorites!

While we were watching the KSU vs TX game Saturday night...I thought of you when I saw Case playing...I really thought of your youngest son, I really see a strong resemblance in those two!

Have a wonderful and Blessed Thanksgiving sweet friend!
