Christmas Family Fun...On The Road...

I know it is really too late to be talking about Christmas, but...WE JUST GOT HOME!!
We keep the road hot on the holidays and whew...I am tired.
Just wanted you to know that we have not fallen off the face of the earth just yet...
I am still up on New Year's Eve. Yes, it is just ten o'clock and it is a shock that I am not yet in bed even on this night that everyone watches the ball drop or kisses at midnight or whatever traditions you have.  We typically go to bed before midnight and acknowledge the new year in the morning. :)
Anyway, on this New Year's Eve...I am waiting up for our youngest son to get home. It is foggy out and of course this is not the best night for young men and women to be out on the roads. Praying for him to drive in here safely sometime...not too late.

I just thought while I am waiting and trying to stay awake that I would show you some of our Christmas fun.
It was a great time of fellowship with family and friends and I loved every moment of it.
Mom's Christmas tree...
Dusting of snow on Christmas Eve...
We have always taken a Christmas morning pile on the bed picture. As you can see we were short five kiddos, well children, well nearly grown kids, ok, pretty much grown kids in this picture. My, how things change and rearrange. Missed Colt, Chance, Zane, Ben and Ky on Christmas morning.
My sweet, wonderful Daddy...
At the Ranch get together with cousins...
This was a funny story. About a month ago I asked Ben what he wanted for Christmas.  He popped of in a smartypants way and said," I want a life sized cutout of George Washington." Then he gave me a smirk and laughed.  Well, I found one on Amazon and boy did I love surprising him with it.  For once, he was flabbergasted. Loved it.
Lovely ranch sunrise...
Manly men doing manly things...
So fun to see some friends from college and hug their necks and see their children.  Russ and Mindy, thanks for coming to Texas to see Michael and Jan and all of us! Loved visiting with you.
Aren't they a beautiful family? Michael and Jan, you are beautiful too...
We were also happy to spend an hour of so with Larry Henderson and family. We love every moment that we are able to spend in their company. It is always a blessing. By the way, Caleb there in the middle sitting down is marrying a special Camp Blue Haven friend of mine, Sarah. Aren't they cute? I love how God works things out for our own good and for His good pleasure.
Well, It is now ten thirty and I am going to get off of here and I don't know...do something while I wait on our boy to get home.  All I want to do is sleep.
Blessings on these last few hours of 2011. Blessings also on 2012.
May it be a year of drawing closer to God for all of us.
Love, Amy
