Spring?

 It seems WAY too early for these blooms...

 They are lovely though...
 While I was out enjoying taking pictures of the blooms I thought I would snap some pictures of some of my favorite houses that I get to drive by occasionally and enjoy. Lovely...




Oh, and just a last shot of one of my morning friends.  Blurry but colorful.

I have been re-reading the "Mark of the Lion" series by Francine Rivers. Without a doubt some of the most gritty, inspiring books I have ever read. I am so moved by the character Hadassah. She puts God first in every aspect of her life. She loves unconditionally and selflessly. She is a little Jewish Christian girl enslaved in Rome after the fall of Jerusalem. This text below is just a bit of conversation between her and John.

John shook his head. "No, Hadassah. Our struggle isn't against flesh and blood, but against the powers of darkness."
"I can't fight Satan, John. My faith isn't strong enough."
"You don't fight him. Resist evil and be strong in the Lord, Hadassah, and in the strength of God's might.  He's given you armor for the battle. Truth, His righteousness, the gospel of peace.  Faith is your shield, the Word your sword.  Pray with perseverance in the Spirit of the Lord. 
Then stand firm, that the Lord might go out before you."
"I'll try," she said softly.
John took her hands and held them firmly, his warmth and strength surrounding her.  "God does not fail in His good purpose.  Trust in Him, and in His time He'll open your mouth and give you the words to speak." He smiled. "You are not alone."

There is just something about these books. Read them. I'm not just talking to women either. All of the MEN in my family have read them. I promise they will bless you!
You will fall further in love with Jesus through the telling of these stories. Wonderful.

Love seeing God's beauty thru your eyes. It IS early for these blooms - I have some daffodils almost ready to bloom! It will be interesting to see what else the weather will do this year! Thanks for making me smile this a.m.

Amy, I've read that book - it was SO good and so humbling to me! Loved it!

I really can't believe that things are already blooming. They are around here, too. Daffodils, the tulip trees are coming out, buds on the trees, some of my perennials are starting to bud! I'm afraid we're going to get a bad freeze late and everything is going to have to start all over again!

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
