Choose Life...Choose Jesus.

 Good Monday morning! He Is Risen!! I think everyday should be Easter! What if we woke up every morning proclaiming the resurrection of our Lord? We just might change the world!
We can change the world and give hope.

The words out of my "Jesus Calling" devotional book this morning were powerful.
"Since I have invested My very Life in you, be well assured that I will also take care of you."

We had a great Easter weekend. It's funny, I heard of several families that hunted Easter eggs even though their children are grown. Fun. Next year that will be on our schedule. These were the boys Easter gifts on Sunday morning. You have to have chocolate right?

I have enjoyed the Jesus Calling book so much I thought our guys would love it too. Hope they do.

Deut. 30:16- For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are now entering.

19- Now choose life so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice and hold fast to Him for the Lord is your LIFE...
Yes, HE is risen...to be proclaimed everyday in our lives. 
We choose life. We choose Jesus.

I love that last picture...always think of Christ's return when I see pictures like that. Only I'm sure it will be much more magnificent!

The one of you and the boys is pretty sweet too!

The eggs for our big kids is kind of a bribe to get them to come and join us, but it works!

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
