Dad and His Coveralls...

This picture makes me smile.
I snapped it one morning a few months ago in my Mom's kitchen.

Dad was headed out to feed the cows.

We had a good laugh about his beloved coveralls.

He uses things until they just cannot be used anymore.
Somehow the sleeve got torn off and so he sewed an old jeans pants leg on the arm.

Like I said, this picture makes me smile.
Love this man.
He is one of a kind and really special.
Smart too.
He could not have married a more precious person than my Mom.
How blessed I am to be one of their children.

How blessed I am to have a father and Mother that point me to my heavenly Father.

I miss my parents when I don't get to talk to them.
I miss my Heavenly Father when I don't fellowship and talk to Him.
I pray that our hears and flesh will cry out for the living God.
That we are so in love with Him that nothing else compares.

Ps. 84:1-2, 10, 11
How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Better is one day in Your courts, than a thousand elsewhere.
O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

Happy Monday! Blessings. Amy

Love this post, Amy. I, too, have been blessed with CHristian parents (even when I was a teen and didn't want to listen). I smarted right up tho many years ago and we spend alot of family time together. They are so dear to me...

You are so right about spending time with our Heavenly Father. It's where we should want to be above all else! I hope you have a wonderful week!

That precious picture makes me smile. Love the blue jean sleeve!! I was blessed to visit with your sweet Mom and Dad yesterday. It was even more blessed to be lead in praise to God at Susan's memorial service by the beautiful voice on Burl McCoy. Thoughts and memories associated with Burl, Daddy and Mother bring tears to my eyes. Burl sang at their wedding at the old Merkel Church of Christ in 1950. A hug from Burl is like a hug from my own Dad, who has been gone for over 8 years. I miss my Daddy. I miss my Heavenly Father when I don't get my priorities straight. Thank you for sharing this picture and words....I've been encouraged and inspired today!!
