Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me.
Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me.
May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never.
May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.
And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.
It has taught us to stay close to one another,
to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.

No holding back. Living it.

Because of the encouragement and growth that happens here we are better Jesus followers.
What an awesome blessing it has been for so many lives.
I am thankful for the men and women that knew it was important to have such a place to mold hearts and minds for Christ. CBH has drawn us closer to one another and most importantly to Jesus.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Now begins a pretty big picture overload. Enjoy...

Zane perfecting his guitar playing on a gorgeous sunny day...
 Cousins...
Silly songs night. Believe me, it really is silly...
I really loved seeing how much my nephews and nieces have grown since last year.
What a joy it is to be an aunt and have the blessing of loving these great kids!
Sandy was laying around soaking up the sun. Love that dog.
There is something about the sky in the mountains.  It seems extra beautiful. Maybe it is the dry air that makes it look so gorgeous. Amazing how big storms blow up nearly everyday. Awesome to watch.
Michael and I have been singing together for years.
It is always fun to work up a new song for camp.
Debra and Ky...
Acts 2:38-39
38 Peter said to them, "Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away. It is for everyone the Lord our God calls to himself."

Beautiful girl counselors, Will and creeper Aaron. Oh, and some ugly Duck Dynasty guy...
 Precious...
Wesley can fill a plate! What fun he is having...
Thursday night is Early Christian Worship.  What an incredible night of singing and encouragement.
These Roman soldiers were pretty scary.

Closing campfire.
Hermit's Peak. Saying see ya later to this view is hard every year. Goodbye Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Can't wait to see you next year. Thanks for the peace and quiet and beauty.

Last stop before heading home. Charlies' Spic and Span.
Best tortillas and cinnamon rolls in the country. Yes. The country.
Blessings! Talk to you soon. Amy

Wow! So many memories as I look through these pictures! Thankful that we share some of those memories together :)
The front area of the barn looks a lot different... did I see some playground equipment?
Were you up there when Obie Lee died? Was he caretaker at Camp when you were a camper? His daughter, Judy Turnbough is there now.
Thankful you still get to enjoy time in this special place (and, I'll admit, I'm a bit jealous :)
Love ya, Friend!
