Another Birthday and the Color Green...

Where does the time go?
Happy Birthday William!
(He did not want cake. He wanted ice cream.
Just like his Dad. They share a Blue Bell addiction.)
To our oldest Gentle Giant:

May God’s many blessings
Be poured upon you
As you celebrate today
And in the years that follow too
May you have a complete sense
Of God’s hand upon your life
Leading you and guiding you
As you walk with Jesus Christ.
We pray for you, love you and bless you
Love- Mom and Dad

It is really fun to watch a bunch of college age men and women having fun together. Nert's, coffee, ice cream and time to laugh. We are so thankful of the blessing of godly, Christian friends that love and care for our children. God is so good.
Had to post this precious picture of our boy. Sweet times.

On to the green part of this post.  I have been wanting to get some painting done in our house since we moved in. I think I mentioned that we were going to hire someone to do a big area in the entry, dining rooms and kitchen. That little adventure of trying get out of painting it ourselves did not work out so good. He was really nice but the paying by the hour and slow progress plus changing paint color in the middle of the project (my fault) did not help. Anyway, we ended up painting most of it and figure we are still young enough to be in the do it yourself mode. All is well. How do you like the green? It is really GREEN, but I love it. So warm and yummy. Sid says he would not call it yummy but it's ok if I do. He would never use the word yummy. He wanted you to know that. :)

Yes, this looks a little Christmasy. I do not have any problem with that. :)

So, next project is the laundry room and then our bedroom and bath. Eventually the whole house will be yummy!

Jesus Calling for today:

Worship Me only. I am King of kings and Lord of lords, dwelling in unapproachable Light. I am taking care of you! I am not only committed to caring for you, but I am also absolutely capable of doing so. Rest in Me, My weary one, for this is a form of worship.

Though self-flagellation has gone out of style, many of My children drive themselves like racehorses. They whip themselves into action, ignoring how exhausted they are. They forget that I am sovereign and that My ways are higher than theirs. Underneath their driven service, they may secretly resent Me as a harsh taskmaster. Their worship of Me is lukewarm, because I am no longer their First Love.

My invitation never changes: Come to Me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest. Worship Me by resting peacefully in My Presence.

1 Timothy 6:15-16; Isaiah 55:8-9; Revelation 2:4; Matthew 11:28

Blessings on your day! Enjoy the cool temperatures. We sure are.

Hi Amy! No ma'am, this is not a Christmas-y color - I love it and y'all did a great job. One of my favorite wall colors.

Your pictures of your son are great - especially the baby picture. I miss my kids being babies so much! Sometimes if I think about it too hard I find myself in a puddle of tears! Thanks for sharing!
Happy Birthday to your sweet son!

L*O*V*E the color of your walls! It looks awesome!!! I love it that Sid would not call it "yummy" lol

I really like the sign in your kitchen about worry...so true!

Great snip of God's word as well...just what I needed to hear!

Happy birthday, William!! My hub and I have three gentle giants ourselves. It is truly a blessing to know your children have wonderful Christian friends. I love the baby picture!

That is definitely a yummy shade of green! My husband would never use the word "yummy" either.

I love your Jesus Calling for Today. It gave me peace and rest just reading it.
