Red Velvet Trifle...

Image
So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Enjoy.  Alaska memories. Love this fat Santa above. Thrilled with how this little wreath turned out. Happy Christmas decorating! Remember: Your family probably does not care if your house looks like something out of Southern Living. They love the traditions and old ornaments and chipped Christmas mugs and plates. Our kids sure do. It is hard when we compare what we have to other people's "things" or decorations. We are all so richly blessed. I say, just don't do it. I am trying to hav

That curly hair is awesome! Brave hunters...  The feast... DBurl feeding his fat friends. I think his head was cold.  Just me and my faithful little camera, out having so much fun. Blessings on your Monday! Amy

Thanksgiving- Here It Comes!

Image
Are you ready??? I have enjoyed cooking this morning. LOVE the spices that go in Thanksgiving food and how they smell. Stirring up some of Jan's famous Pumpkin Cake...  That turned into Pumpkin Cup-cakes... Figured out a Gluten free dressing recipe. Surprisingly, it tastes delicious. Who'd a thought. Please don't worry about how dirty my oven is. I don't very much. :) Ok, I do sometimes. I will clean it up I promise.  Can't wait to see all of these silly, wonderful kids...who are growing up way too fast.  And these people too...  And this view...   Thanksgiving Prayer Heavenly Father, on Thanksgiving Day We bow our hearts to You and pray. Cowboys vs. Browns Outing...

Image
Hi! We had a really fun and quick trip to Dallas over the weekend to see the Browns play the Cowboys. I had never been in the new stadium and boy was it an experience.  Chance invited us to sit a box that belongs to one of his good friends. They were warm and welcoming and the food was yummy and looked beautiful. Quite a treat. We were blessed to be able to see Rachel for a minute and to see Colt after the game for a short visit. One of the biggest blessings of Sunday though was worshiping  in Ft. Worth and hearing Rick Atchley speak. I am thankful for the words that were spoken and how our hearts were drawn closer to God.  Thank you Rick. Here are a few pictures from the football fun: I have a pretty big opinion about the atmosphere that surrounds these games. I have been told to keep them to myself for the most part but I will just say that seeing this going on after the game was over (in the midst of lots of craziness) made me thank God for these m

Friday So Far...

These two are my new friends. They learned to climb on the screens last night. They love to eat and play and did I tell you...climb on the screens? Sweet little guys, but they might loose their claws. :) God painted their coats so lovely. Breakfast was two eggs cooked in Coconut oil with a big handful of spinach thrown it. I have become addicted to this meal. Yum. Funny how the more veggies you eat the more you like them. I really think our bodies crave vegetables if we let them. I also heard that using coconut oil cuts the risk of Alzheimer's disease by a little. It is really tasty too. Loved spending time in the Word this morning. Be still, and know that I am God. He is God and...I am not. (Repeat over and over...I tell myself.) Actually it is very comforting that He is God and I am not. I tend to mess things up most of the time when I am operating on my own. Oh, this did not happen today but hey...here it is anyway- Our oldest gentle giant played for t

Sold Out...

We finished our ladies class study last week and boy was it awesome. The study was "He Speaks To Me" by Priscilla Shiver. She was to the point and inspiring and heart moving. Here are some of her thought to end this study: We must position ourselves to hear from God. Have to be still so that He can speak to us. We need to listen and to feed on His Word. We have to be childlike to hear- don't be too intellectual to hear Him. We have to be single minded in our worship of God- completely focused. Am I being held captive by anything besides God? Am I allowing myself to be a slave to other things? Be sold out! Be so hungry for the presence of God that you desire nothing else. We have to set ourselves apart. We have to have no toleration of sin in our lives. Stand. Be Holy. The main reason we submit to God is because Christ Himself was willing to submit. Our submission to earthly authority shows our submission to Divine authority. We don't have
