Lovely Rooms and Such...

Image
We were blessed to see a lovely Bed and Breakfast spot last week when we enjoyed our Ladies Night Out Pajama Party. This was the living room. Absolutely one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen. Our ladies from church...in their p.j.'s. Yes, it was fun and silly and a great time of fellowship.  Here are a few more lovely rooms...  Door prizes lined up on a beautiful table...  Gorgeous place to sit and swing...  Now, that is nice- Jumping forward a few days. Some good friends of ours asked us over for Sunday lunch. This is her table. Isn't it lovely?  Her stove top area...Jenni loves chickens and roosters. No wonder I love her kitchen.  They have a salt water pool. Beautiful water color and landscaping. This is without a doubt my favorite "room area" so far. Outside fireplace. Love. Wait, I take it back. THIS is my favorite. Psalm 19: 1- The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. No

Infected by Him...

Image
It is a pattern in my life that God seems to push me into places I am most uncomfortable. Does that happen to you? I have come to appreciate and give thanks for it but it has taken me years to do that. I had the blessing of being asked to speak about sharing faith at a ladies night last Friday. It was great fellowship with the sweet women in our church. Terrifying. Out of my comfort zone. God pushes. It's ok. Here are some thoughts from that talk: I have always loved Jesus, respected Him but was not infected by Him. I didn't really know that there was more to this love- that I could have a passionate heart about Him. I guess I really did not see Him clearly active and involved in my life. I think I had him as the cheerleader on the side line of my life, but He was not THE GAME. My personality traits for years and even into college- I was painfully shy, awkward, had zero self confidence, I had thoughts that I just was not smart, my brother joked that no boys w

Birds. Christmas. Comfort.

Image
They are finally here. I was beginning to think that this backyard somehow repelled birds. I was missing the little guys a lot. We think that the hummingbirds last summer and fall chased away all of our birds. We watched them chase away birds. Meanies. They have now decided after months that the coast is clear. Whew. Love em. (By the way-you are showing your age when you fall in love with watching birds. I know. Don't care.) Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds. Of course this RED bird is my favorite. Gorgeous. Don't you love how a red bird sings? So lovely. Speaking of red-this is my Christmas present from my family. (Picture below) I have been dreaming of red pendant lights to go over this long bar since we moved into this house. They are as pretty as I thought they would be. My husband even loves t

A Heart For Children...

Image
My mother in law Joann Walker- She had the idea many years ago to start a Christian school in her community. She kept at it until it happened. She had a dream and God helped it to come true. This wonderful school now has "JoAnn Walker" day each year to remember her heart and love for children. She was not just a champion for Christian education, she was a person in love- completely with Jesus . All that she did burst forth from her passion about her Giver of Salvation and hope and life. Jesus . My husband was blessed to speak on this special day last week. It was a sweet time of remembrance and it was precious. She would have hated it though. She was a most humble person that never wanted any credit for anything and never wanted any fuss over her.  She would not have liked having a day with her name on it. She would insist if she were here to have the name of Jesus put forth instead. She has been with Him now for three years. So strange to loose someone so clos

Signature Of The Divine...

Image
"Signature Of Divine (Yahweh)"- Needtobreathe Cathedrals have tried in vain To show the image of your face. But we are, by your design, The signature of divine. We'll always sing your name. Forever and today. Yahweh, Yahweh... Great is your glory when you go before me Oh, we sing... Holy, Holy... Your ways are lovely. So high above me. Yahweh The fortunes of kings and queens Are wasted chasing what we've seen. Cause we are, by your reprieve, The beauty framed by your suffering. We'll always sing your name. Forever and today. Yahweh, Yahweh... Great is your glory when you go before me Oh, we sing... Holy, Holy... Your ways are lovely. So high above me. Yahweh Take me, and pull me through. Cause I can't move without you. I won't leave you alone, you say. It will be okay. Yahweh, Yahweh... Great is your glory when you go before me Oh, we sing... Holy, Holy... Your ways are lovely. So high above me. Yahweh. Yahweh

The Warmth of His Light...

Image
The door above is the door going in and out of my Mom's house through her kitchen. I love the morning light coming through the curtains and shining warmly into not only her kitchen but into our hearts. He is the light of the world. We are nothing without Him. As this view warms my heart, so does my heart warm to the Light of the World.  Even in times of trouble and pain if we turn to Him...He brings light. Thankful. You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. Psalm 18:28 Eph. 5:8-10 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. Other beautiful promises: Blessings on your day. Blessings on us all picking up our cross everyday and following Jesus . Amy
