Just Go...

Last weekend we were blessed to be able to attend a Christan conference in Austin called The Verge.
It was downtown at the Austin City Limits building.
It was a blessing to be there and to hear so many people joyfully talk about how to be disciples of Jesus.

Here were some thoughts that I quickly wrote down as we were listening:

How can we truly be faithful to our mission without being hospitable?

We need to share our lives- the messy stuff instead of just being people that transfer spiritual information.

Use your house as a weapon for the sharing of the gospel.

What is God saying?
What are you going to do about it?
Who are you going to share Jesus with?

Set aside the attraction of going for riches. Instead- go for people.

Gather. Gather around the dinner table. Act like a family.

Talk about desires, passions and problems.

Become intentionally missional. We are all to be missionaries. Here. Now.

Missions is about people not projects.

Celebrate! The church should be the most celebratory people on the face of the earth!

Bless. Ask the Spirit to give you three people a week to bless in some way.

Be gospel fluent people.

Every issue needs to be met with gospel fluency. Know the Book.

Don't raise converts. Make disciples.

The cross is the central focus as Christians. The saving of our souls and lives is incredible, but then as Jesus followers why do we just try to live out the rest of our lives not sinning?
There is so much more to it than that.
We are to live out the great commission. We are to live by the Spirit. We are to spread joy and hope.

Mark 16:15-
He said to them, “You are to go to all the world and preach the Good News to every person.

What's the question? Jesus is the answer.

These thoughts are hitting us hard right now, with the new responsibilities as elder. Of course, we have always been striving for building relationships with people, etc., but it just feels more like a requirement now. Can only be done depending on the Father every day!!!

Takes time to sit and listen. We are typically in such a hurry to get stuff done, we miss the people.
Beautiful thoughts to put into action. Blessings, Julie
