4th Fun...

Fireworks were pretty amazing...
 But- this was more enjoyable.
We strolled though a place called Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas.
Very appropriate place to be on the 4th of July. Don't you think?
A rain shower had just blown through and the temperature was in the seventy's.
So pleasant and quiet and peaceful...
I pictured lots of laughter and wedding fun out here.
I am sure that happens a lot in this happy place.
 Love...
 Flowers everywhere...
Isn't this beautiful?

 Make a wish...
We did a lot of talking about our nation yesterday as I am sure everyone did.
So much is troubling and concerning right now.
This verse gives peace to me.
No matter what our nation turns into and trouble we have there is this absolute truth.
We have such a message of hope and peace to share.
We ended up out at Washington on the Brazos yesterday.
Independence Hall marks the place where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed and the government of the Republic of Texas was created.

We walked and talked on the trails that wound around the grounds there and prayed for our country and for our children. I was so moved by part of the prayer my wonderful husband said. It went something like this, "Thank you Father God for our country and our freedom to worship and freedom to do as we please, but thank you much more for our freedom from sin through Jesus and our independence from the world."
Amen and amen. There is nothing like knowing we are saved and no matter what happens in this country or world, we know the ending. We are intrusted with such a beautiful, exciting message of life and hope.
We were also blessed to visit with this bearded, precious son. Peru is sure a long way away and we are ready to see this guy in person. So fantastic to be able to talk this way. Only 4 weeks. Come on home!
We sure miss this one too...
So, I hope your 4th of July was a pleasant, family filled, yummy food eaten, fireworks awed at kind of day.
 We loved our day...

You've got some good-looking sons, Amy! Hope things are going well for you and yours. I've not been blogging much lately... hope to be back soon!
Beautiful and what a great way to spend the 4th. Awesome photos. B
