Colorado Springs- Family Time and The Broadmoor...

August skies, and lullabies, promises to
keep, dandelions and twisting vines, clover at your feet.
Memories of aspen leaves trembling on the wind,
honey bees and fantasies, where to start
again, someplace cool and green and shady.

Cool and green and shady.
Cool and green and shady.
Cool and green and shady. We visited Sid's brother and family on our quick trip to the mountains. Colorado Springs is lovely. This is their backyard. The John Denver lyrics above popped into my head when I layed eyes on the beauty of their backyard. Can you believe the gorgeous deer that play and eat and romp in the yard? Wow. There are bears that like to play back there too, but we did not see any while we were there. Not sure if I am disappointed or not.
Can you imagine seeing this view everyday? Awe inspiring...
Three of our wonderful CSprings family. Incredible people...
View from Garden of the Gods Lodge...
We stayed one night at a B&B in Manitou Springs. Enchanting...
 Breakfast on the porch anyone?...
Bill drove us by this unbelievable castle. Glen Eyrie...

B&B sweet little bathroom. I love the tub...
This. This is really why we loved the visit. Time to talk and laugh and make new memories with family that we love. It was a blessing...
Before we left Bill said we had to run by the Broadmoor and have a look. Fantastic resort hotel. I had no idea of the history or the beauty we would see there. There is no way in the world we could afford or would afford to stay there but walking around and looking was only a five dollar parking fee.  If you are ever in CSprings. This hotel and grounds are worth the five dollars to view. Gorgeous...

Sid and I sat here and enjoyed a cup of coffee and the view. Peaceful...

Well, there is our little tour of Colorado Springs.
We loved it all- especially Bill and Shawna's backyard, food and wonderful fellowship.

Gorgeous pics! Love those places - haven't been to the Broadmoor in years but it looks like I should visit again. Garden of the Gods is one of my all-time favorite places! So happy for you all getting to have the visit with your family!
Oh your photos are beautiful. I love your poem at the first and touring incredible places like this with family is certainly the best thing I can ever imagine doing too.
