Heartbreak and Hope...

There is so much going on.
Good and sad and happy and heartbreaking.
Sometimes things are so big in your heart and mind that there just are not words good enough to write.
Or maybe there is just so much to say that trying to say it is too hard. Not sure.
I really want this blog to say something and to mean something and to speak to hearts and minds about God- not to be just some trivial comments here and there and nice pictures.
Don't get me wrong- all that is OK,
but to speak of HIM is the most important thing.

After hearing last night that one of our CBH campers passed away yesterday- our hearts are breaking.
All I can do is turn to God and His word and His promises and hope.
There is no other comfort. This world gives none.
We love you Dusty.
I am wondering if we loved you right or good enough
or if we could have been in your life more in some way.
This unbelievable tragedy calls my heart to be more aware of where people are in their minds and hearts.
We must do better.
We MUST look for the hurting and lonely.
I am thankful that we serve and love a merciful, grace filled, loving God.
I believe that we will see you again Dusty-and hug you and worship with you in Glory.
These verses came to mind this morning...

Deut. 30:19-20
19 Today I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses. I am offering you life or death, blessings or curses. Now, choose life! Then you and your children may live. 20 To choose life is to love the Lord your God, obey him, and stay close to him. He is your life...

Choose life. Even when everything seems dark.

Choose to seek El Shaddai- God Almighty.
If you are feeling like there is no reason to go on...seek His face.
He will not fail you.

Psalm 105

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
    make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
    tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
    seek his face always.

Blessings on this day.
All we have is this one.
Let's make it count- for the Kingdom.
Let's look for people that are hurting and help.
Let's show our hope and love and be Jesus with skin on.
Even in the midst of heartache.
Even when we have lost someone we love.
We hope.
We love.
We know the end of the story.
See you in Glory Dusty.
Amen!

I know what you are saying. Anyone who has to deal with death or serious illness, especially in December, just makes me really sad for them. A classmate of my daughter's took his life last week and it's just so difficult. I like your words WE MUST take the time to see them.
