Will You Marry Me?...

Image
We are blessed beyond our wildest dreams to welcome this precious girl into our family and are thrilled our oldest gentle giant will be a part of her family. God is so good. We have prayed all of our boys lives that if God intended for them to marry and have families that He would raise up girls that love HIM more than they will love our boys. We are so blessed with a beautiful girl just like that for Will. We love her heart and love that she loves our gentle giant. All praises go to our wonderful God. (Most of these photos were taken by Chris and Lacey Masters.) They did a super job!  Oh happy day!...  Precious...  The Bride to be and her lovely mama... God Does Not Shut Down...

I have been a little concerned. This government stuff is very disconcerting. I have spent many days ranting and being angry and wondering what will become of our country. What will become of our lives. Yes. I have. God has helped me put things in perspective the past few days. First, a mighty storm rolled through our city a few days ago. It was one of the fiercest I have sat through. Strangely, even though I was concerned, I was not too scared and my thoughts were about how incredibly powerful and mighty our God is. If He wants to He can take our world or government or anything else and direct it with His breath. He is incredible and He is in control. That thought in itself takes away my fear about how our government is messing with our sweet country. I know that sounds very simplistic, but I have to and want to trust Him that much. So much that I truly give Him my worry. The other nice perspective was seeing the lovely butterfly above this morning. He was excitedly

Leave Some Space...

MARGIN is the renewable resource that helps protect our families, our marriages, and our mental health. The principle behind it is simple: you are careful in advance to avoid filling all your time, finances, and emotional energies to capacity.  Instead, you are intentional about leaving space available, or margin, in those critical areas. That way, when you encounter the inevitable unexpected circumstances of life, you aren't pushed beyond your limits. Instead of prioritizing margin, we live on the edge. We crowd our schedules with so much activity that we have little time left for family, friendship, and rest. And with our finances, we spend all we have and then some. We don’t keep back reserves for the unexpected.  God recommends careful advance planning: The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty. Proverbs 21:5 Four things are small on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise: The ants

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, "The Lord reigns!" 1 Chronicles 16: 31 I love how the trees and out of doors look in the autumn sun. Gold, rich and warm. The sun seems to be giving its last goodbyes before the cool air settles in. Autumn is indeed enchanting, even deep in the heart of Texas. It gives warmth as we are to give warmth. I have a problem that puts me at odds with my Maker. I am selfish. I probably could be classified as a loner and it has taken me lots of years to figure out that I just don't have the right to be a loner. It's not about me. It's all about Jesus. 1 Timothy 1: 9-10 He has saved  us and called  us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done  but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,     but it has now been revealed  through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,  who has destroyed death  and
