Going To The Chapel Very Soon...

We are praising our good God this morning for a multitude of reasons.
Some I can talk about and some that will go unnamed but none the less- Praise is going on.
We declare God's Splendor all day long!

We had a fun weekend helping our oldest gentle giant and his fiance get their little cabin in the woods ready to live in after they get married next week.  It made me think about our first little wood frame house below.
It was a sweet and very drafty house to live in. Wonderful memories and a great adventure.
This is a picture of where our kids will live.  It's not fancy but it sure is peaceful and roomy.
 Not a bad sunset view either...
The future oldest gentle giant's wife was doing a little nesting this past weekend and I noticed these framed words on the window sill above the sink.
She is a keeper. Yes she is.  We are incredibly blessed to have this precious girl in our family.
 Not a bad little porch to wile away some spring and summer evenings.
 There of course had to be one last lock down pre-wedding wrestling time between these boys.
 And some fat cat relaxing time...
Love these people.  There are none more giving and loving and kind...

Exciting times! We had a wedding 2 years ago, and one last summer. One more to go. God is still moving through families. Congratulations on your growing family.

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
