Chacos wearing rules...

Image
Mr. Gnome and I were wondering if there is an age limit on the wearing of Chacos? Or possibly if there is a rule about your feet being too white to wear them. I hope not because these cuties were not cheap. :) They are so comfy I may never take them off again. Please let me know if I might possibly be too old because of course I don't want to embarrass my children. Oh wait- no, that does not bother me.  Have a fun day. Get out there people.  The sun is shining and summer fun is calling.

Water Kefir...

Image
If you have a gluten problem or stomach issues of any kind you should make your own Water Kefir. It has improved our health significantly in the past few months. If you take an oral pro-biotic that is great but this fermented probiotic really is better. Keeping your gut healthy is one of the major keys to keeping your whole body healthy. Mix some up and enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions.  What is the advantage of taking Kefir instead of a probiotic supplement? Fermented products such as kefir are considered functional foods  because they offer enzymes, pre-digested nutrients, amino acids, vitamins,  minerals, calories/energy and billions of probiotics. Probiotic pill supplements  contain just one or a select variety of bacteria, and usually that's it. It's always  better to eat something in its whole form when possible, because each part  makes the other more digestible. This is why companies are now adding  fiber back into cereals and frui

"If you live to be a hundred,  I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you." "Any day spent with you is my favorite day. So, today is my new favorite day." "If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you." Winnie the Pooh There are those friends (sisters) in life that no matter how long it has been since you have been together that the moment you catch her smile and glance you are instantly slipping back into that comfortable, beautiful friendship.  My friend Lisa above is one of my closest heart friends in the story of my life,(everyone has a story).  Her son married a lovely young girl last Saturday in Ft. Worth. It was a happy celebration and we were able to see so many people

Red River Encampment and the Rest of June...

Image
Good morning on this hot, glorious (steamy and humid) summer day! We are trying with all of our hearts to find the thankful in everything. There is so much to be thankful for if you just look at all things with the glass half full attitude. Working on it. Only through His eyes there is grace, mercy, blessings and thankfulness. I thought you might like to see how these lovely flowers are singing joy this morning... Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers   fall,       but the word  of our God endures  forever. ” June was a blast!! We were blessed (not Sid- he had to work...boo hoo.) to be able to be at the Red River Encampment again this summer. It was been a beautiful part of our spiritual story for the past 24 years.  What a blessing it has been in building knowledge and heart for God and in meeting and having sweet Christian friendships. My quiet and tranquil perch up in the trees at our condo. Cool breezes and birds singing. I can still hear it.  No wor

Musings- Missing our Children, Waves and Being Silly...

I miss these two.  Bad. Oh, but look at them in their cool Advocare t-shirts! Look out Arizona! These two are going Advocare crazy! www.advocare.com/11052920 All thoughts below are very random postings of  pics from here and there of journeys traveled in the past few weeks. June was a busy month for us. It seems we had nearly all of our summer plans packed into one month. Believe me it is difficult for my kind husband that actually only takes off one week in June, but we manage to keep his weekends busy too.   We took a quick trip to Corpus after we were home for a week from New Mexico for camp and the Red River Encampment. We just walked on the sea-weedy beach and slept late and ate sea food.  A good time was had by both of us. Thankful. Since I told you about missing our two "kids" above I must tell you that I miss this young gentle giant more than words can tell.  He is doing a super job at camp this summer. So proud of him. He is having fun too.

Utopia, Texas (Shh...it's a secret)...

Image
There is a well kept secret gem of a sweet place on the Sabinal river here in Texas. This little town is called Utopia, Texas. Not much here except a few buildings on the main street with a cafe and grocery store and oh- a golf course. Of course. :) There was a super little movie shot here a few years back called 7 Days In Utopia .  Yep- this is the place.  We stayed at a quaint lodge on the Sabinal river outside of Utopia called Utopia on the River. I just love B and B's and lodges where the owners take time to visit and know your name and tell you all about the area and places to eat and things to do. We found our favorite thing to do in little Utopia. We spent some time floating on this peaceful river (right behind the lodge) and listening to the birds sing as the wind danced through the trees.  The water is so clear and cold and perfect.  This was one of those times in life when you look at the one you love and say something like," This might be one of the coole
