New York City Trip...

Well, hello! We are on the countdown to Christmas as I know you are too.  It sounds so wonderful to be with friends and family and have good fellowship time. 

My sweet and kind father Christmas gifted the four of us with a trip to New York last weekend to see the sites and to attend Colt's game.  I had never been to NYC, and now looking back, I'm not sure why we never made this happen before. Well- money and the lack of is probably why, so thank you DBurl for a super trip, but more than thank you for being able to experience and see all that New York City offers I thank you for giving me precious time with these three women.  It was beyond good and fun and such a blessing. Best Christmas gift ever! Love you Daddy!
Things are CRAZY right now, trying to play catch up after an enchanting and wonderful trip and being sick for weeks before.

He's the real deal. Football player with heart, but even more importantly, he has a good heart that loves God above all else. Even football.

We saw the most wonderful Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. What a surprise when at the end they read the story of Jesus' birth and had a Nativity scene with live animals and some real praise going on on that stage. Thank you God that Your name was exalted there in that auditorium, in that town. It blessed us. 
You just never know. I am thankful.

Rachel was a delight. She is fearless and beautiful and lovely inside and out.
She introduced us to Uber and took care of us for two days.

So glad you got to experience NYC - but especially at Christmas!! We have been cheering for Colt (even though it KILLS us to cheer for the Redskins!). I have been having trouble with my pictures - which is why I have not been able to update my blog. I thought of you back in October when we went to the University of Texas. We toured the stadium which my boys loved and my Carter kept looking for signs of Colt everywhere!!!! Hope to have the pictures up soon. I am so glad Carter has such a wonderful role model in Colt!

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
