From Cold Texas to Warm Arizona- Road Trip...

Hello! What a great week it has been.  We are home from a wonderful road trip out to see our son and his sweetheart in Arizona. We made a sentimental stop in Ft. Davis, Texas on our way out. We have camped in these Texas mountains for many years past on Spring Break.  This trip it was just the two of us and it was enchanting and full of sweet memories.  We have never been in this part of the country when a blue norther has blown in. It was absolutely COLD but incredibly lovely. If you are ever looking for a peaceful, off the beaten path vacation spot- check out Ft. Davis, Texas and the Davis Mountains State Park
This lovely place is Indian Lodge. It is the most tranquil and peaceful spot in Texas. There is a restaurant on site called The Black Bear that has wonderful, yummy food.

 We enjoyed the toasty fire...
This is the view looking out of the Black Bear restaurant...
We also stayed one night in town at  The Limpia Hotel
Quaint and old. It feels as if you are stepping back in time...
We spent quite a few hours reading in these cosy chairs by this fire...
 This happened too...goodness.
Then...we drove to warm Arizona!!
This was the first thing I saw as I got out of our car at W and C's house.
The color was gorgeous and the temperature was about 80 degrees. Perfect.
The view out of their window...
My early morning companion. Ava and I listened to the birds chirping and had a good time chatting.
She is a sweetie cat.
 Blooms everywhere...
Walks in the park...
Goodness- we miss this boy and his girl...
See that mountain? We climbed it the next day.
I am happy to say that I can now walk again and I did not die up there. It was close.
Here we are on the way up...

 Ah...
 Squaw Peak...

 Reward...   :)
We love breakfast, at any time of the day...

My sweet daughter in law treated me to a pedicure.
Loved spending time with her. She is for sure a keeper.
 Love...
 More blooms...

 And shady places...
And a gentle giant feeding his kitty! ha.
Of course several games of 42.
Candace is obviously the only normal person in the picture...
So- as we now await the sun shine and spring and endure these last days of cold and clouds we have to remember...
Know also that, He has His angels watching over us when we make Him our refuge and our dwelling place...

Your photos are beautiful! I now know there are mountains in Texas. I've only seen hills, but those look like real mountains. Of course, the waffles look delicious. A real weakness of mine :) Glad you had a wonderful trip!
