Good Mornin!...


Life is finally slowing down just a little bit. Thank goodness. It needs to. The scripture above really was speaking loud to me this morning. Thankful for how God sustains us.

I also saw this quote from Bob Goff this morning and it really hit me hard. It is so true.
"Jesus isn't going to try to speak over the noise in our lives; He won't compete for our attention."

I think He waits on us. He is always waiting. Think of what we could be doing for the Kingdom if we were only more focused on putting Him first and being blessed by His leading everyday. That last sentence was specifically for me. By the way, amid all of the angst and worry over the supreme court decision on marriage, I came across this blog post below. Spot on for me. See if you agree.

Well, we have had fun updating some of this house that we have moved into.  Mostly just painting but we did have a fun little kitchen renovation.  I will post those pics soon but today I am excited to show you my office in a closet. My husband and I are both working out of our study/4th bedroom space.  We have down sized once again and space is really tight.  I have always been intrigued by those office in the closet pictures on Pinterest. Well- ours is not in any way lovely or extravagant like those but it works and it saves a ton of space. I love it. The desk was my grandfather's. Such great memories. He used to have a thick piece of glass over the top with all of our pictures underneath it.  Miss him and my beautiful grandmother.

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
