A Place to Land...

Image
We found a sweet little house with a  big open living, dining and kitchen area. We are planning on having lots of big meals with lots of friends and college kids eating and enjoying themselves. What a happy thought... Come on in! Well, in July that is. This sweet backyard has palm trees and lots of flowers and birds. I can see lots of good times to be had in this space. Just a few thoughts for today. Nothing you don't already know but here they are: In our Bible class a few weeks ago our preacher was talking about Faithful Families. He had a great list of qualities of Godly families. One of his best points was- Families either build generations of faith or faithlessness. Exodus 20:5 & 6- You must not worship or serve any idol, because I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. If you hate me, I will punish your children, and even your grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  But I show kindness to thousands who love me and obey my co...

And Life Goes On...

Image
Hello! It has been rather strange going for this longer than usual time without blogging.  Life has been crazy is a bit of an understatement. Here is what we have been up to: Moving (ourselves=not too smart) Putting our "things" of which we have way too much of  into a storage unit...on the second floor. Yes. Moving in with our boys until we found a house (we looked at well, probably fifty)  They all run together at that amount, believe me. Crawling over all the boxes and furniture in storage unit to find  my suitcase with all of my good clothes in it. Funny...so glad my best friend did not take pictures of that event. "Fixing up" the boys rent house that we own. We could not figure out why we could barely walk this morning. Sid says there are about fifty and fifty one reasons. Trying to get oriented to a new place. Thinking about making friends and missing our friends from East Texas. Spending two w...

Letting Little Birds Fly The Nest?...

Image
Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with His-feathers. He will shelter you with His-wings. His faithful-promises are your-armor and protection. There is absolutely-nothing to fear about tomorrow for God is already-there. Don't worry sweet Mom. God loves your little bird and He loves you. He is there for both of you. You, in your moments of heartbreak and worry, and in your little bird's life as they fly away into a grand adventure. Blessings! Amy

A Stitch In Time...

Image
These sweet pictures are of my wonderful Mom and Dad. They hang in their hallway in their house.  So precious.  The last time I was there I took a lot of pictures of her "stitching".  When I think back to my childhood and evenings at home I see her sitting and cross stitching.  I never got the hang of it or was too impatient to work at it, but she loved it.  Here are some of the ones that I love that hang on her walls.  CROSS STITCH I’m completely addicted, to this I confess, The ironing needs doing and the house is a mess The windows need cleaning but what do I care as I sit here and stitch in my cosy armchair? In a world of my own I could cross stitch all day, and that’s what I’d do if I had my own way. But I’ve got to get cracking I’ve a dinner to cook (for a husband who sits there just reading a book). There are pictures I’ve done, all over the walls. A few minutes to spare and ...

Tired...

Image
See that plastered on smile and tired face? That's me right now. Well, the picture is from last night. I wanted a picture to send to my Mom of the Hydrangea's so we snapped it. We were headed in to Wed. night services last night after packing all day and knowing we would be telling friends goodbye. That is the reason for the plastered on smile. Even if where and what you are moving to is really great it is always hard to say goodbye. Not a fan of goodbye's. I am comforted though that my brother's and sister's in Christ and I will never really have to say goodbye.  Just a see you later will do. There is always a possibility of course that we won't meet again on this earth. We have no guarantees of even our next moment in time and that is ok. I have butterflies and am thrilled thinking about the reunion in heaven with friends and family. Awesome to think about. What a grand time it will be. I LOVE these scriptures about...

After the Rain Beauty...

Image
Psalm 65:10    (NCV) You send rain to the plowed fields; you fill the rows with water. You soften the ground with rain, and then you bless it with crops.  Fattest, longest, slimiest worm I have ever seen... Yes, that was pretty gross . Here is a better picture to leave you with for today... St. Marten Now, wouldn't it be sweet to jump into this picture for a few days. Hey! Back to the real world! Blessings and thankful for where I am right now at this very moment! Amy

Baseball, Packing and Peace...

Image
We enjoyed the weekend in Aggie Land  with my husband's father and our kiddos.   It was a perfect day for baseball.  This is quite a view too if you love football. I am up to my ears in boxes and feeling pretty overwhelmed with it. I am sure it will all get finished...some how...some way.  I walk by this sweet view at times and marvel at how God's creation is incredibly gorgeous, and He made it beautiful just because He loves me.  Jesus Calling was great for today, here is a little of what it said: If you learn to trust Me- really trust Me- with your whole being, then nothing can separate you from My peace. Do not fear what this day, or any day, may bring your way. Concentrate on trusting Me and on doing what needs to be done. Relax in My sovereignty, remembering that I go before you, as well as with you, into each day. Fear no evil, for I can bring good out of every situation you will ever encounter. Pro...

Critters...

Image
Sweet little turtle crossing the yard early this morning and we have oodles of these green,  (I want to say yucky) lizards everywhere. They creep me out just a bit. These critters were not in my yard this morning, thank goodness. Zane is my hilarious nephew on top of the statue. These future Aggies were attending Aggies for Christ, Shine weekend. Looks like they had fun. I am sure of it. By the way...Happy Birthday today crazy nephew!  Love you! These are the critter's above Freshman Aggie sponsors. So mature. When you gotta slip-n-slide...you just gotta slip-n-slide. So here on the home front and in my heart...I am focusing on this thought...because it has been a hard week in a lot of ways.  And to another family member who is strong, tough, humble and stands on the Rock, take heart... Blessings friends! Amy

Light...

Image
Matt. 5: 14-16 14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
