Baby It's Cold Outside...

Image
My weekend was spent holed up in Abilene with four people that I love very much. It was perfect. We were iced in and could not get out and we enjoyed lots of fun conversation, coffee, good food, staying in our pajamas, not putting makeup on, playing with the dogs and watching the extreme weather.  Oh, and Hallmark Christmas movies.  Nice. A relaxing fun time was had by all. To my sister on the mountain...I love your Bed and Biscuit.  It's awesome. I pray that we will all have a safe and wonderful time of Thanksgiving with the people we love this week. From aholyexperience.com We will give thanks to God not because of how we feel, but because of who He is. No disaster, no storm, no termination, no catastrophe would stop them from giving thanks. Because the Farmer and his wife knew it: No matter where they were, every thanksgiving always brought them home - giving thanks always brings you home to the heart of God.

The Blessings of Family...

Image
Oh, how I love these people.  Every year we take the Christmas picture with Sid's family somewhere on the Texas A&M campus. This family photo has been taken this time of year for over 40 years.  It is a blessing to get together every year and celebrate life and family and to watch the growing up of children and the additions of sweet new family members.  Through the tough times of loosing people we love,  we stick together as God moves us into sunnier days and closer to the hope of heaven.  Oh, how I love these people.  There are also epic photo fails. Lots! Will-what are you doing with your hand?? Classic Wes- I have no words that can be spoken out loud. :) Your Dad is saying- "Get off my shoulder!" I think our little one needs to find the restroom. I must say though that the women in this photo take great pictures. Isn't our future daughter in law beautiful? This one is worth all of the photo fails and trouble to take pictures. LOVE

The Morning...

Image
Good morning world! The Mighty One, God, the Lord,  speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. Psalm 50:1 What a blessing it is to get up each morning and watch the world wake up and see the dawn of a new day. Sleeping in is nice sometimes, but who would want to miss this? These are good days. Oh, I know, there is a lot of bad going on and sadness and chaos, but these are good days. It just depends on how you look at it. Even in the hard things, we are on an adventure with God to see how we can help to further the Kingdom in all we say, do, think, act and live. This week I have watched a Godly young woman deal with a serious breast cancer prognosis. She has four children and a wonderful husband. Her attitude is beautiful. She knows the Lord is in charge and that there is no where else she would rather be than in His hands. Looking at the road ahead of her...she rejoices at what opportunities there will be to glorify Him and to see how He i
