Haiti...

Image
Our oldest son is back from his spring break trip to Haiti. They had a great time and I think he fell in love with the children and the work going on there. They built a cinder block home for a widow lady and painted an orphanage. He is praying that his life work can be on the foreign mission field somewhere. I tell him sometimes that this lovely country is a mission field too and becoming more and more so as the days go by. It is just a different kind of mission field. Harder I think due to our comfortable...materialistic life style. I am thankful for his heart for people and desire to spread the love of Jesus. Scripture for today: Psalms 64: 10- Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord, and take refuge in Him; let all the upright in heart praise Him! We are resting up after a wonderful, keeping the road hot spring break. I have so many fun pictures and stories to post. I will get going on it soon. Working my way through a long list of to do's! Have a blessed day! Amy

Off To Haiti

Joshua being installed as the leader of the Israelites: Joshua 1- 6 Be strong and courageous , because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7 “ Be strong and very courageous . Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous . Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Will...be strong and courageous. Be a leader for God. Praying you there and praying you home. We love you. Psalm 4:8 (New Century Version) 8 I go to bed and sleep in peace, because, Lord, only you keep me safe.

Spring Break...Haiti...

Image
(please pause blog music at the bottom of the page to view video. Thank you.) Will is heading to Haiti with the Mobile Medical Disaster Relief Team this coming Sat. for his spring break. The Aggies are going with a group of students from Abilene Christian University and the Vanderpool family. We met Dr. Vanderpool and family last weekend. They are a family dedicated to helping people and spreading the good news of our Lord Jesus. God has blessed Will with a great friend and future housemate in their son John Mark. I love it how God works and weaves people into our lives that bless us and we can bless and grow together. God is so good. I ask for your prayers for this group of people that they may bring relief in every way to the Haitian people that they work with. I pray that the name of Jesus and His love will be shared and spread and will infect the hearts of the people of Haiti. I ask also that you pray for the protection of every person on this spring break trip. Protection from pol...

Coffee House...

Image
I have a bit of a love affair with my favorite coffee house. I guess with coffee in general. I love the smell of strong coffee that hits my nose as I walk through the door. I love the buzz of the people studying and talking and smiling. Most are taking time to stop and drink in warmth and the moment. Coffee houses are always welcoming with warm colors on the walls and comfy couches and chairs. Mellow music and great lighting. Smelling coffee is just comforting. I don't know but it seems like just smelling it would be helpful in lowering your blood pressure. Drinking coffee brings to mind sweet fellowship and smiles and warmth. Have you ever rolled out of bed early when you could sleep late because you start to think about how good that first cup will be? Guilty. I love drinking cup one while devouring spiritual food in the early morning as the world is waking up. Thank you sweet husband for your example. Just had the thought that it would be cool if our churches were like coffe...
