Everyday Blessings...

August skies, and lullabies, promises to keep, dandelions and twisting vines, clover at your feet. Memories of aspen leaves trembling on the wind, honey bees and fantasies, where to start again, someplace cool and green and shady. Cool and green and shady. Cool and green and shady. Cool and green and shady. We visited Sid's brother and family on our quick trip to the mountains. Colorado Springs is lovely. This is their backyard. The John Denver lyrics above popped into my head when I layed eyes on the beauty of their backyard. Can you believe the gorgeous deer that play and eat and romp in the yard? Wow. There are bears that like to play back there too, but we did not see any while we were there. Not sure if I am disappointed or not.  Can you imagine seeing this view everyday? Howdy! This is Sandy. She is the CBH guardian, keeping everyone safe from bears and fast moving UPS trucks. Just don't mess with her food. :) We love her. We just made it back from a wonderful, fast trip to the New Mexico mountains and Blue Haven Christian youth camp. This trip is truly one of the highlights of every year.  We are so thrilled to have been blessed to teach first session for the past 11 years. We get to teach but we seem to learn so much spiritually ourselves when we attend camp.  What a blessing to be a part of this place that I call "a taste of heaven."  Silly songs in the barn...  And, believe me, it is silly... Speaking of silly- THESE GUYS! One of which is our youngest gentle giant. God has blessed him to be a camp counselor all summer in the cool mountains of New Mexico. So thankful.  Well- no words for how funny this moment was... Opening campfire... Sid's birthday always falls during camp time. B...

Storms. We had a good one a few nights ago. I guess it was good if you like storms. I have learned to like a good thunderstorm. My like quickly turns into feeling like I can't breathe when the wind starts swirling and blowing side ways. I don't think it is a coincidence that most bad storms come during the night. It is easiest at night for the prince of darkness to terrify and make me question things that in the light of day I would not question. At least, that has been a pattern for me. I hate patterns. I hate letting fear get the best of me. I had a friend one time that taught me to get up at night and sing. Sing to God. Out loud. She said that praise scares the devil. I believe that. Even better, praise strengthens me. There is something about singing Jesus' name out loud. Powerful stuff. Anyway- God is trying to teach me a good lesson. Back to the storm. I have kept my fear of tornadoes at bay for quite a few years....
