Houston Trip...Christmas Party

Hey all! It has been a few days or maybe a week since I have had time to get on here and post. A lot has transpired in the last week or so. Colt went to New York and fell just short of winning the Heisman. Second best football player in the US is not bad right? We are proud of him and even more thankful that he knows that football is not the most important thing in life. Being a godly, loving and obedient Christian is the most important thing in life.

Mom and Dad , Brad, Debra, Chance, Case and Rachel got to go to New York for all of the festivities. Mom and Dad even saw Tom Cruise and shook his hand. What a hoot. They loved seeing the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and ice skaters. She is going to send me pictures and I will post them when she does.

Sid and I went to Houston for the Lanier Christmas Party. This year he had Miley Cyrus as his singer and it was a big ta do. We had a great time seeing old friends and making new ones. The Lanier's are warm, wonderful people. What a party they throw each year! Huge tent to serve great mexican food, bouncy playthings for the kids, lots of normal fair type rides, etc. They had a real choo choo train that circles the property.
They said there was around 8,000 people and it seemed like three fourths of them were 10 to 12 year old girls! ha. Can you blame them? Miley Cyrus was there! Come on! We stayed for a few songs and then gave our seats up to two excited young girls who promptly lept upon our chairs and started screaming. Whew...

We stayed at the Marriott across from the Galleria for two nights and did some Christmas shopping (mostly window shopping in the Galleria) and ate good food and walked a lot and laughed a lot. Yesterday was our 20th Anniversary so we were in celebration mode and really had a great time. For our anniversary meal we had a huge bowl of guacamole and lots of chips (my favorite) then a shared a big plate of chicken in some kind of heavenly pasta (Sid's favorite) and topped it off with Carmel Chocolate Cheesecake and coffee (Favorite-for both of us). We rolled out of the restaurant and walked it off in the Galleria. ha.

Home now and the boys survived staying home alone. They cleaned the house some. hmm...that has never happened before. Wonder what happened here while we were gone? Have to do some detective work. ha.
Now only 3 more days of school then we will be out for Christmas. We can't wait to see everyone and have time to relax and enjoy the holidays.

Here is the scripture and song that ran through my head for much of the past three days...
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Ps. 120: 1-2
Thanks for the tune Mom.
Oh,and Sid...this song is for you. Love you.
Blessings on your day! Love, Amy
