Memory Lane...Red River Family Encampment

I know that this has been a year of remembering for me on this blog. Thanks for listening and for not minding the sentimental thoughts (hogwash). I have been thinking this morning about how much the Red River Encampment has meant to our family. We have been able to attend every year the last 18 years except one I think. The impact that this fellowship has had on our family is hard to put into words. The fellowship with so many other Christians has been something to cherish. The friendships we have made will be lifelong. The wonderful heart lessons about God and how to live obediently for Him have made all the difference in our lives, but most of all I believe that just being there and making the effort to have Christian influence in our children's lives has been monumental. I want to encourage young parents to make great effort to joyfully involve your children in Christian camps and family encampments. Their hearts will be encouraged and lifted up and brought closer to God. Thank

It is a lovely summer day! How about these temperatures? Goodness... it is warm. The test I had done on Monday was fine. No problem with my kidneys or anything. I am very thankful. I do need to figure out why my left side is hurting but hopefully it will not be anything serious. Thank you for your prayers. We are heading off in a short time to the Red River Family Encampment. It is always such a blessing and great time of family reunion for us. Will and Wes have attended this event every year of their lives. It is fun to get away to the mountains and cool down and fellowship and worship with thousands of other Christians. Hope that your day is going good and your summer is wonderful. Hope that you are having a great morning. If you are facing some sort of trial or trouble today, here is a verse for you and for me: Joshua 1:9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Also: People are like tea bags. You find out how strong they are when you put them in hot water. It is interesting how if you have had some sort of cancer in your body that when ever you have a new ache or pain or something weird that fear of it being new cancer kicks in. I struggle with letting satan terrify me about this and other things. I am going to have a test done to see if my kidneys and bladder are ok this morning. I would appreciate your prayers for peace and that it will not be anything serious. We just got back from taking Will to freshman orientation at Harding. It was a good trip. Getting his schedule made out was a little stressful, but it is done. We were blessed to be able to have two meals with my

Ah...Camp Blue Haven Week

We had a wonderful week in the mountains at Camp Blue Haven. It truly feels like a taste of what heaven will be like. I wish I could communicate how incredible it was and is for young people and for the teachers alike. To be able to go somewhere so beautiful and focus on God intensely for a week is such a blessing. Our text for the week was out of Ephesians. This verse was especially on my heart: Eph. 3:14-21 For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able
