Hauling Hay...

Many years have passed since those summer days

Among the fields of barley

See the children run as the sun goes down

Among the fields of gold.

As I watched the guys haul hay last weekend
I thought about the old Sting song "Fields of Gold".

I also thought about my childhood watching each year as my Dad grew wheat and we watched as they cut it. It blew like liquid gold in the field as the wind hit it. I always thought that no one could make a paint color that could equal the gold color of Dad's wheat field. God's colors are so powerful and beautiful. Wonderful memories.

Watching Wes, Dad, Chance and Brad haul hay was also a beautiful time to put away in my memory for a cold, winter day. The sun was warm and made the pictures so lovely, the fellowship was great and I enjoyed every minute of it.

They sowed fields, and planted vineyards

that yielded a fruit full harvest. Psalms 107:37

The sky is always so beautiful in Texas. Always. Every sunset is different and lovely.

Gus

Underwood's after all the hard work. Great reward for these guys.

This fawn ran around out in the hay field for two days. We think he lost his Mama somehow. He was so beautiful. Hopefully some other nice deer has adopted him by now. :)

Blessings on this gorgeous day! Amy

Man, what memories!! I miss the days of helping Uncle Burl at the farm. Those were the days! It brings tears to my eyes to think about how old we have all gotten (the great-grands) and how I wish we could go back there for just one day. Love you!!

Lovely photos, Amy. What great memory (and character) building for the boys. Yours have both grown up into such amazing young men.

P.S. I am wondering about the little deer now. :(

Just reread the post on my computer so I could see the pics enlarged. Mom and dad can't drive through Brownwood without stopping at Underwood's. :)
