Home...

Will and his MMDR friends have made it to Haiti. We won't hear from him this week but I feel sure that God will bless them and keep them safe. I know that they will be a great blessing to the children at the orphanage that they are working at. They are going to build a cinder block cafeteria for the orphanage. The picture below is of where it will be sitting. Will says that they will help if needed as medical staff help also.

For some reason thinking about the orphans and about these incredible college students and adults that go on these somewhat dangerous missions, I have been pondering the word home. We have moved alot and our children have not had that experience of some that have lived in the same town and same house all of their lives. I can't say it has all been easy because leaving friends behind has torn my heart apart more than once, but there are advantages to the outlook that our kids have now. I think that they have a little more of the view that this world is not my home, I'm just a passing through. Right now Will's heart is more at home in Haiti or at Camp Blue Haven than in this home we currently live in. I know that his heart is bound to his parents where ever we are. I kind of like that. I pray that we can take it even further to what our wonderful preacher talked about yesterday. "We are trying to get to heaven, to God, but even right now...that we are home because He lives in us."

John 14:23
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.
That old phrase, "home is where the heart is" is a good one. I just want us all to be soaked and full and pouring over with the God that is living in us. I pray that where ever we live that we are not ever too comfortable there and that we always, everyday will be excitedly dreaming of our heavenly home while growing our knowledge and love for the God that has made His home in our hearts. Wow...that is awesome if I do say so myself. He is at home in me. I need to ponder that alot more...

Blessings on this new week. I know that alot of the news is frightening and the weather is so hot and depressing, but let's not forget who holds this world in His hands. No matter what, He is in control. Let's just tell the story...

Praying for those kids as they go and work. Praying for the momma's too!

This made me think of that Carrie Underwood song...
"This is our temporary home."
