Hey friends! Good to be back and hope to be more consistent blogging from now on. My grandmother-ing schedule is a little different this semester and will give me more big chunks of time to return to some things I have let go and visit some things I would like to learn and do.
By the way, to my heart's delight we just got back from a delightful trip to the ocean or the "big water" as our granddaughter calls it. I will blog about that soon.
In the last week I have heard two lessons on the same scripture and feel very convicted that God is highlighting something I need to work on and ponder. I have read this verse numerous times in the past but two different people talked this week about examining what it actually means to deny yourself for God.
Matthew 16:24-2624 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.25 For whoever would save his lifewill lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake wil…
Hey friends! Several people have asked that I share this water kefir recipe lately so here is an updated post about making kefir. Questions are welcome.
Good morning! I just finished a batch of Water Kefir and thought I would share the goodness! You can buy Water Kefir grains at most health food stores in the refrigerated section.
Follow the directions on how to hydrate your grains. It is easy! Recipe and kefir health benefits are listed at the end of this blog post:
It takes 3 days to make a batch of water kefir.
Start with a large glass jar and spring water...
Keep your kefir in the fridge in between batches or just start another batch immediately. Mix 2 cups of water and 2 tab. of sugar well and then put kefir grains in and store in fridge. Use coffee filter on the top so that they can breathe and grow.
Stir the sugar into the spring water and stir until the water looks clear using only a wooden spoon.
Add kefir grains to the sugar water...
Then add organic raisins or apricots.
What a whirlwind- incredible wedding weekend.
All I heard about being the parent of someone getting married was that it was expensive (true) and crazy and a exhausting, etc. and on and on.
Most comments were not all that positive.
Yes, it was tiring but what people did not talk about was how awesome the fellowship and what a blessing to be in the midst of so many people that you love.
I would do this past weekend over and over again.
Joyful. It was joyful.
We had the rehearsal dinner at a nice Mexican food place called Blue Mesa Grill.
These are a few of the table decorations that we worked on for a few weeks before.
It was so much fun getting all of this ready and watching it come together.
The picture frames above were just cheap black frames from the Dollar store with pics of our kids in them. You just tape the sides together inside and leave the back cover of the frames off so that candle light shines through the pictures. Loved this idea and it turned out so very sweet.
