Family Christmas Fun...

We made a trip to Marshall Texas last weekend to see the "lights". It was just pure family Christmas fun. I am blessed and I am thankful. If you want to see some beautiful Christmas lights and lots of people having lots of fun...Marshall, Texas is a good place to visit.

They have an ice skating rink right in front of the courthouse. Lots of great Christmas music blasting. If you are not from Texas...this is pretty extraordinary. It gets fairly warm in the daytime here. Ice skating outside is unusual. Usually we only see an ice skating rink in door's in a mall. This was enchanting.
(Good ole' refrigeration under that rink.)

Two goofy, fun kids. We took them to eat at a nice place on the square. As you can tell they are not used to such nicety's. Taco Bueno and Chick Fil A are more up their alley. :)

I have never been to Marshall and heard about it all my life...thanks for the pictures...I so enjoyed.
Grapevine Texas is also wonderful...we did that last night. Main street is wonderful.

We used to travel to Marshall every year to watch the parade. I sure do miss being around friends and family this time of year! Soak it all in! God has blessed you with a wonderful family!

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Red Velvet Trifle...

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mr. and Mrs. Colt McCoy It was an wonderful weekend of wedding fun. From the rehearsal to wedding day luncheon to reception. I am thankful we were able to be there and share in the fun and memories. Table at Rehearsal dinner. Sweet. Bridal luncheon. Lots of smiles and laughter. Beautiful girls. Mothers, Grandmothers, Rachel and Aunts. Lots of them!
