Camp Blue Haven- 1st Session...

“All people are like the grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.
The grass dies and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord will live forever.”
1 Peter 1: 24-25
Camp Blue Haven, Session 1 was super this year. Our text for the week was focused on 1 Peter. Powerful words of encouragement and challenge to live our lives fully for God. To stand and avoid and fight against being infected by the world. Camp is lots of fun, but there is always and seemingly more so this year a deep, serious battle for hearts going on. There is always a very real Spiritual battle happening.
We must to wake up and see the battle and be in on it.
People are dying spiritually out there. Every second.
Some care, some don't. Oh, how we want them to see Jesus.
To know His hope and redemption and His power in our lives to live life abundantly and with joy.
Ephesians 5: 13-17   But the light makes all things easy to see,  and everything that is made easy to see can become light. This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper!
    Rise from death,
and Christ will shine on you.”
So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely.  Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. So do not be foolish but learn what the Lord wants you to do.
This camp has silly songs on the first night of the week.
The people were sillier than the songs.
Makes me smile.
Super group of high school campers. Our bible class.
Praying for you!
Hammock time. This is one of the new teacher cabins behind Sean. So nice and no rats!! :)
This handsome boy, our youngest gentle giant is serenading the girls. Smart boy.

Mess hall fun. You can't beat the good grub of Jennifer and company. The best.
Low ropes bible class.
Joey and Wayland. Pointing campers to God.
 Twins day. Love!
 More twins day fun.
High ropes zip line. Absolutely- the favorite.
 Being silly.
Love all of these people below...

One of my precious sis in laws. She is really my sister. Yes.
 No words...:)
 Girl counselors...

The banquet theme on Friday night was "Pirate". Lots of goofiness going on here.
 Special people...

Hermit's Peak looking from the Crow's Roost...

Super Hero day.
Yes, he is my favorite earthly hero.

Wes giving his cabin a talk before early Christian worship...
 New baptistery area. Gorgeous.
Of course we could not go to camp or Las Vegas without a stop at Charlie's Spic and Span.
Great coffee, pastries, tortillas, Mexican food...it's all good!
 Charlie is really frightening though...
God painting the sky before closing campfire...
The view of Hermit's Peak coming into and leaving camp.
Can't explain how seeing it makes people feel going in or coming out...Excitement going in and tears coming out usually. But, as one boy said at the end of 1st session, "I am pumped about leaving because I get to go home and tell people about Jesus!" Love that.
 1 Peter 1: 13-16
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.  As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.  But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;  for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

I can see why you love it! I miss camp. We did TREK a couple of summers ago and that was so great, but we haven't done anything like it since. We also were camp counselors before kids for several years.
