Parenting Helps...
Good morning! I have felt the prompting to share thoughts on these two parenting resources with you guys. The Power of the Praying Parent, in my opinion is the best prayer resource besides the Bible for raising your children. It has so many great thoughts and ideas on how to incorporate prayer for your children into your life and to help to teach them how to pray and how powerful it is. It also has great help on how to combat Satan in your children's lives and in our own.
These little CD's called Seeds are pure scripture songs. They are children's voices mixed with a few adult leads. They are powerful, wonderful songs for learning scripture. We used them at a time when one of our boys was basically under attack and so fearful that he could not sleep or function well. We played these CD's over and over and it was such comfort to hear God's promises to take care of us right from scripture. Hearing scripture in song makes it easier to remember and plant it in our hearts.

For many years we made sure that we had just a word from God each morning at breakfast time. Just one quick scripture to think about. Now as the boys have gotten older and the mornings are crazy with early morning sports and other things it seemed like a great time to encourage them to be in the Word by themselves. We still occasionally talk about one scripture together in the morning but now for the most part one of our boys has his Bible study time at night before bed and the other gets up early to have his.
The greatest encouragement for our children to be in the Word of God is for them to see us reading it and loving it. My husband has had the habit of getting up early (way early) most every morning of our married life just to read his bible and pray. It has had a huge impact on my life and on our boy's lives. His example of putting God first and starting his day in God's word has been a life changing example to us.
I just want us all to be in love with God, and we can't feel that way unless we stay in His word and continue daily to learn more about Him.
Hebrews 4:12 (New Living Translation)
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Blessings on your day and blessings on raising your children to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Amy
