All Dressed Up...

Wes wore his Dad's tux and went to his senior Prom solo a few nights ago.

He did however take some sweet pictures with two of his good friends Emma and Ande.

Two beautiful girls with hearts of gold.

He did not last too long at prom. He said he thought the dancing was stupid so he just stood around and laughed and talked to his friends. I am glad THAT is over. We have less than four weeks until graduation. Hard to believe and it is flying fast. Wes just wants it to be here and over so he can get up to New Mexico and spend a few weeks at Camp Blue Haven.

I don't blame him. It sure does sound wonderful. The smell of the pines, the sounds of the river dancing over the rocks and many voices singing praises to our Awesome God. Yes, can't wait.

Love, love love the pics! My favorite has to be Wes in front of the tree with the girls peeking out! They all look beautiful and how fun to go with friends...Looking back, I wish I had done that!

So easy it's embarrassing! Here it is: One box of Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake mix. 1 semi sweet choc. chips 1 small Half and Half- (use half a cup) 1small carton of whipping cream 1 package of cream cheese Half cup sugar Bake cake (follow box directions), let cool and crumble. Stir together cream cheese, sugar and whipping cream with blender until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in bowl and then add half and half. Stir until smooth. Layer in trifle dish. Mom's Apricot Cobbler...

It is melt in your mouth good! Ok, I know that yesterday I wrote about not eating any more sugar and I'm not. This is for YOU. I just had to give you Mom's recipe. It is so easy and so incredibly yummy. Hope that you enjoy it. It smells heavenly while cooking too. Easy Apricot Cobbler Jan McCoy 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. Baking Powder (Mix well in mixing bowl) Add 1 cup Milk and about a third cup of oil Mix well. Pour in oblong Pyrex cake pan. Heat at least 1 quart of sweetened fruit (apricots) to boiling. Pour on top of the batter. Add dollop (don't you love the word dollop?) of butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until brown. Enjoy. Camp Blue Haven-2012

Mountains green, sparkling streams, every morning you greet me. Pine trees tall, waterfalls, blue skies canopied o'er me. May I know as I live and grow, God forsakes me never. May His love from above bless Blue Haven forever.  And what a blessing it was this summer to be back up in the cool mountains with so many people that we love.  As I reflected on this special place I thought about how big of an influence it has been on our children and our hearts.  At camp time slows down. There are so few distractions. The focus is on fellowship, enjoying God's creation and growing in knowledge of Him.  It has been a place to teach us what our life in this world should be about. It has also been a glimpse of what I think heaven will be a little like.  It has taught us to stay close to one another, to be accountable to each other and to live an out loud life for Christ.
