Longing for Him...

"If you want to build a ship don't herd people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the

endless immensity of the sea."

Antoine-Marie-Roger de Saint-Exupery

May we inspire people to long for God and not check off a list to be "good" and earn our way. We cannot earn it.  The closer I walk with God the more I feel butterflies in my stomach and a swelling in my heart and longing for Him and for heaven.  Yes, you do have to work at it and yes, there are dry, dead moments and times. Nothing in this walk of life that is worth something comes easy.  Slow and steady wins the race as our wonderful preacher says.  I encourage all of us to keep walking and longing for Him no matter what.  He is waiting and He is there even in the quiet times when you wonder if He is not.
Psalm 119:174
 (NLT)
O Lord, I have longed for your rescue,
and your instructions are my delight.

Great post, Amy - I know how you feel. I remember when I was much younger and struggling to stay on track, and now that I'm older and hopefully, wiser, it makes me long for God more and more. I hate those dry, dead moments when I feel like He's not listening, but I know He is. It's just my own heart that is dry and dead. I so appreciate your blog for encouraging me and helping all of us who belong to Him to stay focused!

I'm loving your music this morning!
