Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
    Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
    Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
    Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
    Good night, good night.





August sun shines hot.
These dog days of summer multiply.
The weeds and flowers and vegetables all mix.
This garden intertwines.
The color takes over.
I watch.
I marvel.
