Crazy people... Still crazy but a little more normal looking except for the few that look like they are taking a mug shot. (Smile Michael!) I like the one above. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!!

Red Velvet Trifle Update 2013...

Image
Hey friends! If you need an easy Christmas holiday dessert-  and I do mean easy, this is your recipe. The picture below is from a blog post this time last year. This trifle only had red velvet cake and whipping cream with chocolate syrup on top. It was good, but the Red Velvet Trifle recipe below is-  SO. MUCH. BETTER. Simple instructions: Buy- One Red Velvet Cake Mix- bake. Set aside to cool. One large box of instant vanilla pudding (you will need 3 cups of milk to mix with pudding mix) Make pudding and set aside. One large cool whip. One bag of peppermint pieces. (By the chocolate chips in your grocery store.) Layer starting with the cake- use half the pan and crumble in the bottom of the trifle dish. Spread half of the pudding on cake and then a layer of cool whip. Repeat, then sprinkle peppermint pieces on top. Waa Laa. Done. Enjoy with a large cup of steaming coffee and hopefully some fun conversation with good friends. I just enjoyed this little...

Big Events-All At Once...

Home can be the Pennsylvania Turnpike Indiana's early morning dew High up in the hills of California Home is just another word for you Well I never had a place that I could call my very own That's all right, my love, 'cause you're my home If I travel all my life And I never get to stop and settle down Long as I have you by my side There's a roof above and good walls all around I need you in my house 'cause you're my home. You're my home. Billy Joel We celebrated our 25 Wedding Anniversary this month. What a fantastic 25 years it has been. My sweet husband sang me this song a long time ago. I still love it. Home is with him. He represents everything that I love and find comfort in. He loves God more than he loves me. That makes it all just perfect. Thank you honey- for being my home  and for showing me a more clear picture of God.  Thank you for cheering me on and walking with me into Glory some day. So thankful we share thi...

Heartbreak and Hope...

Image
There is so much going on. Good and sad and happy and heartbreaking. Sometimes things are so big in your heart and mind that there just are not words good enough to write. Or maybe there is just so much to say that trying to say it is too hard. Not sure. I really want this blog to say something and to mean something and to speak to hearts and minds about God- not to be just some trivial comments here and there and nice pictures. Don't get me wrong- all that is OK, but to speak of HIM is the most important thing. After hearing last night that one of our CBH campers passed away yesterday- our hearts are breaking. All I can do is turn to God and His word and His promises and hope. There is no other comfort. This world gives none. We love you Dusty. I am wondering if we loved you right or good enough or if we could have been in your life more in some way. This unbelievable tragedy calls my heart to be more aware of where people are in their minds and hearts. We must...

Thanksgiving Peace...

Romans 8: 18-19 18  I consider that our present sufferings are not worth  comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.   19  For the creation waits in eager expectation  for the children of God  to be revealed.   Blessed so much to spend a few days on our family ranch. Land that you can walk on for miles and be still and listen to the quiet. There are not many sounds out there except for the distant train and wind through the trees. Oh, well-there are those occasional gun shots of hunters bagging a trophy deer. Yes, that too. Mostly, though, our hunters love to sit by themselves in a blind or high seat up in the trees and watch the world wake up or go to sleep and talk to God and listen to nature. I get why they like to hunt so much. The quiet. We don't get that much anymore. Thanksgiving was a blessed, wonderful time with family and friends this year. Thankful for every moment.  The trees were lovely and the sky ...
